Lovely Tortie Ginger!
Dearest Ginger, what a beautiful Tortoiseshell lady you are! You are absolutely stunning, with that multi-color fur that looks so soft and that sweet face with those lovely big golden eyes. I am amazed at how much like my own dear Tortoiseshell lady Galaxy you are! Her coat is quite similar to yours.. maybe more dark fur in it. She has golden eyes, too. And she's also fourteen years old! Who knows, maybe you and she are long-lost sisters! (Maybe not.. I think Galaxy was born here in Michigan, not very close to Utah. But then, you never know... Maybe their Dad is a ramblin' man!) Galaxy says "Hello, Meow!" to you, and so does my orange and white girl Sparkler. I wish I could reach through the screen over to Salt Lake City and pet you! I can't, of course, but I know your loving and beloved Purrrsons will pet you for me .
And what a story you have to tell! You started life as a feral kitten. We're so glad and grateful you and your family were rescued and then fostered. You met your dear Purrrsons-to-be through an ad in the paper, and you and they all fell in love with each other! Now you live the wonderful life you deserve, and always did. At age fourteen you are the master of your household, as you should be, of course. You are quite the love bug, settling on empty laps purring and chirping, jumping up on shoulders to ride around the house, being held like a baby to listen to heartbeats. You even move the door drapes aside to see who is coming or what is going on outside! You and your dear Purrrsons all love each other very much, don't you. What a wonderful love-filled home you share!
Congratulations, darling Ginger, on being chosen today's Cat of the Day! We hope you and all your family and friends are enjoying a fine celebration, full of fun and lovies and all your favorite games and treats.

I meant," said Ipslore bitterly, "what is there in this world that truly makes living worthwhile?"
Death thought about it.
CATS, he said eventually. CATS ARE NICE.
