Sweet Simba!
Dearest Simba, you are so beautiful! What a stunning Scottish Terrier you are, with that gorgeous black fur and that sweet face. You also have the most delightful personality. You have many important jobs, including keeping the bird feeders squirrel-free and "prewashing" the dinner plates before they go into the dishwasher. You're ever ready for a walk and for playing with the dogs you meet. Afterwards you curl up close by or on the nearest lap. You and your dear people all love each other very much, don't you. You're their Sweet Simba! What a wonderful love-filled home you share!
Congratulations, darling Simba, on being chosen today's Dog of the Day! We hope you and your dear people and all your family and friends are enjoying a fine celebration, full of fun and lovies and all your favorite games and treats.

And I laughed out loud when I read how selflessly you fulfill that dreaded post dinner task...the prewash!
That's just what we here call it as well.
What would we do without you kids lending a paw (or tongue) with that dreaded clean up job! I know, it's hard work. But someone's got to do it!
