Dearest Rocco, what a beautiful blue roan Cocker Spaniel you are! You're very heart-melting indeed! Your colorful fur is so sleek and pretty and soft-looking, and you have the sweetest face with those lovely big brown eyes. Thank you for sharing all these great photos with us! They are terrific, showing you in so many different poses and settings and moods. Your young friend's new camera was certainly a worthwhile investment! He/she is an excellent photographer. In that last picture of the puppy and the brown dog, is that you and your mother back when she was with your family?
What an amazing tale of rescue and adoption and love you have to tell! And what a wonderful person your dear young friend's mother is, finding you and your mom out loose on a rainy day and bringing you both home! Then she and the family gave you the care and love you needed and deserved, even though they'd never had a dog before. I'm so sorry to learn that your doggie-mom eventually had to go back to her previous "owners," who sure didn't know how to care for a dog properly. (I'm so glad they didn't know about you, so you didn't have to go too!) You grew up with your new family, and you and your young friend have grown up together. You and they all love each other dearly, don't you. What a wonderful love-filled home you share!
And what wise words your dear friend has to say, about how owning a dog changes your life, helping you grow up civilly and humanly. And a dog is the mirror of its owner, not just a possession or a pastime. God bless these good people, your dear friend and family! My deepest thanks to them for their wisdom and love and great care for you.
Congratulations, darling Rocco, on being chosen today's Dog of the Day! We hope you and all your family and friends are enjoying a fine celebration, full of fun and lovies and all your favorite games and treats.
I meant," said Ipslore bitterly, "what is there in this world that truly makes living worthwhile?"
Death thought about it.
CATS, he said eventually. CATS ARE NICE.
