    Precious Penny!

Dearest Penny, what an adorable young lady you are! You are such a pretty Tuxedo girl, with that soft-looking black and white fur complete with white gloves and boots, and that sweet face with the cute pink nose and those long white whiskers and eyebrows and the lovely big green eyes. You look so comfortable and content in those great photos, and thank you for sharing them with us. I wish I could reach through the screen and across the ocean to Norfolk, England to pet you! I can't, of course, but I know your loving and beloved Purrrson will pet you for me .

And what an uplifting and heartwarming story of rescue you have to tell! You were rescued from a multi-cat hoarding situation and, not surprisingly, were completely unsocialized. You'd been overlooked by many visitors to the RSPCA before your dear Purrrson-to-be met you there. He/she adopted you and brought you home, but you hid for several weeks. Then you slowly began to make and allow small gestures of touch, first touching her/him with your tail, then letting him/her touch you. You've been gaining in confidence slowly, and now you sleep on the bed with your Purrrson, wake her by sitting on her, ask for strokes and lie down for them, and welcome visitors, cautiously. You love to play with screwed-up pieces of paper your Purrrson throws in the air. It sounds to me like you are making great progress! It's been hard work on both of your parts as she earns your trust but so worth it when you lie down purring in response to head-strokes and face rubs. As she says, "Rescue cats are the best!" You both love each other dearly, don't you. What a wonderful love-filled home you share!

Congratulations, darling Penny, on being chosen today's Cat of the Day! We hope you and your dear Purrrson and all your family and friends are enjoying a fine celebration, full of fun and lovies and all your favorite games and treats.

Dear Penny, what a beautiful tuxedo girl you are. Your plush coat looks so soft, and your face with those green eyes is adorable.
You had a rough start in life, coming from a hoarding situation, and not socialized. You ended up at the shelter, where most visitors didn't pay you any attention.
But then your luck turned, and your forever person adopted you, knowing that you were a diamond in the rough.
It took you several weeks to realize that you were safe and loved. You started coming out, with growing confidence, and now you sleep on your person's bed. You even cautiously greet visitors. Your favorite toys are paper and string.
Penny, I am so happy for you, you deserve only the best.
I wish you and your family a great day full of celebration, and many more happy and healthy years together.

This is my cat Penny, adopted from the East Norfolk branch of the RSPCA, in November 2017. She was rescued from a multi-cat household and was unsocialised, and had been overlooked by many visitors to the cattery before I met her. She didn't want to interact with me at all while I was there, and once home, hid under the table for several weeks, where I couldn't look at her. After five weeks she touched me with her tail, a week after that she allowed me to touch her. She has continued to grow in confidence, very slowly, and now sleeps on the bed with me, wakes me up for breakfast by sitting on me, demands to be stroked and lies down for it, and welcomes visitors (cautiously). Her favourite toys are screwed up pieces of paper which I throw in the air, and string.

It has been hard work at times, waiting for her to trust me, but so worth it when she lies down purring while I stroke her and rub her face. Rescue cats are the best!
Hello, precious Penny! Happy Cat of the Day!

What a gorgeous tuxedo lady you are! Your fur looks so soft to pet! I like your sweet face )

You had a difficult start, being rescued from a multi-cat household and then going to a shelter. Your person adopted you, and allowed you to adjust on your own time. After several weeks you gave tail-touches and allowed yourself to be touched in return. Now you sleep with your person, request petting when you are ready, responding with a purr; and provide a very special wake-up each day! You are getting used to welcoming visitors cautiously. You play with paper tossed into the air, and with string. Best of all, you are a loved kitty!

Happy, happy Cat of the Day to pretty Penny!
