Sensational, Sweet Sam
Dearest Sam, what a beautiful kitty you are! You are an absolutely gorgeous fellow. That orange and white fur is so fluffy and looks so very soft to pet, and what a sweet face you have with that cute pink nose and those lovely big eyes. My orange and white girl Sparkler says "Hello, Meow!" I wish I could reach through the screen and all the way up to Halifax, Nova Scotia to pet you! I can't, of course, but I know your loving and beloved Purrrson will pet you for me .
And what an amazing story you have to tell! Your kitty Purrrents were adopted by your dear Purrrson when your mom Molly was pregnant with you. Molly came to your Purrrson when she was about to give birth and stayed with her/him the entire time, looking for comfort, love, and assurance that she was safe. She just had one kitten, you, and then fell asleep with her head in your dear Purrrson's palm.
Now you are 16 years old, with the most delightful Purrrsonality! You sleep under the bed-covers and love feet. You enjoy laying on top of your house/scratching post and sunning yourself in the afternoon. You have kitty housemates, and you are your dear Purrrson's grand-kitty. We are sorry your dear fur-Daddy has left for the Rainbow Bridge, but he is with you always, watching over you and sending down love. As your dear Purrrson says, "Animals are a constant source of companionship, love and entertainment and are more precious than all the worlds riches." We agree completely with that! You and he/she love each other very much, don't you. What a wonderful love-filled home you share!
Congratulations, darling Sam, on being chosen today's Cat of the Day! We hope you and your dear Purrrson and kitty housemates and all your family and friends are enjoying a fine celebration, full of fun and lovies and all your favorite games and treats. We know your fur-Daddy Angel and all the Angels are rejoicing with you at the Rainbow Bridge!

I meant," said Ipslore bitterly, "what is there in this world that truly makes living worthwhile?"
Death thought about it.
CATS, he said eventually. CATS ARE NICE.
