Adorable Nutmeg!
Dearest Nutmeg, what a beautiful young British Shorthair lady you are! You are so pretty with that soft-looking fur in its striking tabby and white pattern, and your sweet face with the brown splotch above your nose and those lovely big eyes. Thank you for posting all those great photos! You are adorable indeed in them all. i wish I could reach through the screen and across the ocean to Sale, Cheshire, England to pet you, and pet your mum and brothers, too. I can't, of course, but I know your loving and beloved Purrrsons will pet you all for me .
And what a heartwarming story you have to tell! You and your mum and your brothers were rescue kitties. Mum turned up as a pregnant mistreated stray. She was taken in and gave birth to her kittens at a foster home for Cats Protection. We're sorry that your one brother died as a kitten. We give great thanks to the Cats Protection people for saving so many kitties, and great thanks to your dear Purrrsons for choosing rescue.
Now you are living a great life with your Purrrmanent Purrrsons! You prefer playing with them or by yourself rather than with your mum or brother. You love playing with your catnip rooster and your stuffed bird on a string. You enjoy catching flies and spiders. You don't like Dreamies cat treats, but you do love tuna and ham and will speak up until you get some. You are so affectionate, with a very loud purr, and you love sleeping in your Purrrson's lap in the evenings. You and your family members, feline and human, all love each other very much, don't you. What a wonderful love-filled home you share!
Congratulations, darling Nutmeg, on being chosen today's Cat of the Day! We hope you and your dear Purrrsons and mum and brothers and all your family and friends are enjoying a fine celebration, full of fun and lovies and all your favorite games and treats, maybe a special serving of tuna and ham!

I meant," said Ipslore bitterly, "what is there in this world that truly makes living worthwhile?"
Death thought about it.
CATS, he said eventually. CATS ARE NICE.
