    Sad news

My mom has passed away. I knew she was feeling a little off, she blamed it on the weather. I did not expect this, until she failed to answer her phone yesterday then I knew.

    I am so sorry.
Our goal in life should be - to be as good a person as our dog thinks we are.

Thank you for the siggy, Michelle!

Thank you everyone I had to identify her yesterday at the medical examiner's. Was a hard day. Today I meet with her lawyer and accountant. Struggling. My IBS is not good. I miss her so much! Tomorrow is her birthday

I have been away and just read this.

I am sorry for your loss.
My mom was sick for a while, but that didn't soften the hurt and the sadness when she left the world.

    ---------

In the days and weeks following her passing, I had times where I was stumped, lost, confused and wanting a little guidance - when that happened I got myself into the habit of taking a few moments and going thru a 'checklist' of questions/affirmations?

    Not in any order?

    Can I do this?
    I can do this.
Mom wouldn't be happy if she saw me now.
I can get to tomorrow, this will be better then.
Mom WOULD be proud of me because I just (fill in the blank).
    What would mom say?

That last one was a game I played when I really wanted to have a conversation with her. I'd try to think about what she'd say and what advice she'd give me in that situation.....She always agreed with what I said!

Hey you, don't tell me there's no hope at all -
    Together we stand
    Divided we fall.

    I laugh, therefore? I am.
