    Anthropomorphism - say what?

This is one of our veterinarians' favorite words: Anthropomorphism.

He thinks it is ridiculous when people say things like "he looks so sad" or "she'll be mad at mom" about their pets.
Unlike the t-shirt that 's titled "A cat's many moods" and the dozen kitty faces look all the same, I still like to think that if a cat looks mad to us by her facial expression, she's actually mad.
Mindy certainly let's me know what she thinks.

Let me guess - he's an older guy. Newer science is proving what we have known (at least I have) all along - of course animals have emotions!

Of course they do! And you can just look at their faces to get a pretty good idea.

I meant," said Ipslore bitterly, "what is there in this world that truly makes living worthwhile?"
    Death thought about it.
CATS, he said eventually. CATS ARE NICE.

Of course he is! And he can't keep us from interpreting every dog's and cat's emotion, even if it drives him crazy.
