    Beautiful Nikita!

Hi Nikita! Happy Dog of the Day!

What a gorgeous Husky girl you are, Nikita, and true to your breed, so curious, so energetic and adventurous! Having been mom to a rescued Husky myself, I know what a handful you kids can be! hehe You sure keep your mom on the go, don't you, Nikita? Who needs an expensive gym membership when she has her very own "trainer" in you!

What a sad, scary start at life you had, Nkita! I cannot believe that anyone would #1 purchase a dog from a "pet shop," let alone pay $2,500 only to surrender her/him 2 days later to a kill shelter! Too "wild???" You were a puppy for heaven's sake. Didn't anyone tell her/him that dogs, especially puppies require patience, work and training, that furkids are a life long commitment!

Thankfully you escaped the unspeakable; countless healthy dogs are PTS every day at kill shelters! And while I'm sure being shuffled from shelter to shelter took it's toll on you emotionally, as fate would have it, you ended up in the very shelter your uncle to be volunteered at, the Husky House rescue in Matawan, NJ! How amazing is that! And after a bit of wearing down on your uncle's part, well, to say "and the rest is happy history" would be an understatement! Just look at your photo spread! Your furever home even came with a fenced in yard to keep you safe!

I had to laugh at your mom describing your disgust at having been dressed up in that Santa hat, that look on your face! I just today saw a Christmas card describing that very scene...doggie burying his Santa hat! Well, hopefully it'll be nothing but presents 'neath the tree for you from here on in...holiday attire optional!

Great thanks to your mom for sharing your heartwarming, rags to riches homecoming story with us, Nikita! It was a long and winding road you took on your way to your fureverhome, but so worth the trip! Your family is one lucky lot, having an active, beautiful, sweet and loving furkid in you, Nikita! You're a treasure! Hope you're enjoying a very special day of celebration, sweetheart, working off that energy, running your mom ragged, being treated to all your heart desires and more! Lots of love, hugs and kisses to you, beautiful Nikita, our very special and most deserving Dog of the Day, EVERY day!

    Living the good life!!!

Dearest Nikita, you are gorgeous! What a beautiful Siberian Husky you are. And what an amazing story you have to tell! You had a sad, scary start there with a lot of bad-news alleged-humans. Very, VERY fortunately, you wound up at the Husky House rescue, where your uncle-to-be volunteers. He fostered you for a while, then told your Furrever family about you. You and they adopted each other, and now you are living the wonderful life you deserved all along! You take your dear person on long walks, and you go to doggy day-care to play with your friends twice a week. And you did NOT like having the Christmas hat put on your head! You and your dear people all love each other very much, don't you. What a delightful love-filled home you share!

Congratulations, darling Nikita, on being chosen today's Dog of the Day! We hope you and all your family and friends are enjoying a fine celebration, full of fun and lovies and all your favorite games and treats.

I meant," said Ipslore bitterly, "what is there in this world that truly makes living worthwhile?"
    Death thought about it.
CATS, he said eventually. CATS ARE NICE.

Nikita is clearly beautiful and awsome! It is so sad that her first home was with people who were rotten simpletons. Oh well, now amazing Nikita has an understanding and loving family that is sensitive to her husky needs eh. What an outstanding and beautiful DOTD! Huge hugs and lotsa love to Nikita, wonderdog for sure.
