Thursday 686? Peanuts and CrackerJacks Thursday!

Take me out to the Bar!

I just realized that I had "baseball fever" and forgot about opening the bar!!!!

I love this time of year, it's all kinds of sports, but baseball is the most fun!
( the local teams are doing well and I am in heaven, until they lose! )

It's been a wonderful day, the patio is open and I am taking orders.

It's ball park food, all day long!

I'll take a hot dog with mustard, relish and ketsup please. And a tall unsweetened iced tea.

Just made a whole pitcher, Gayle! Happy to share - you want heart-shaped ice cubes, or the rectangular ones?

One hot dog, with the works.

It's been a glorious week for the game.

I went to a game last night saw a grand slam, then came home and watched two more on the sports channel. Some kid named Judge, playing for the Yankees, CRUSHED a home run that almost went 500 feet! That is more than 166 yards - a football field and a half.

On Saturday, the local college team won and is going to the College World Series.

    I am in baseball heaven!!!

Such fun - especially the college kids!

Hot and muggy here - its 11 p.m. 82°F and in here, there is 57fi humidity. There was a power outage in the middle of the day today (my town has its own electric company) and so they asked everyone to cut down on power usage where possible, or I'd run the A/C just to cute the humidity!

The Red Sox game just went into the 11th inning against the Phillies!

I have a new pitcher of iced tea, and even some heart-shaped ice cubes if anyone wants some!

Are we lucky enough to have all-beef wieners? Even if we don't, I'll have one with ketchup only please. Thanks!

    Hi david,

One wiener for you and a drink from the Cup.

Winning a WC is a wonderful thing, especially when you follow the team all season.

    We have beef weinies!

    Done!

Karen, Is that a 'relief pitcher'?

Our Chicago teams are having an up and down season. I'm here with turkey hot dogs and tomatoes.

LOL, I have a "Chicago Style" hot dog story.

I was watching the TV and a SONIC commercial came on.

They had some kind of promotion for the kinds of hot dogs they sell - one of the dogs on the menu was a "Chicago Style" dog.

During a road trip I saw a SONIC and pulled in - I was going to get a CSHD.

    ----

On the tube, they show a CS dog with a pepper, pickle spear on a nice bun.

In my mind, I see a spicy/pickle-y kind of dog......a dog with a little 'bite'?

    ------

When my order came, I took a bite and thought I was being pranked.

I thought that they had sprinkled sugar on my hot dog!

    ---------

My favorite kind of summer salad is tomatoes, onions and cucumbers in vinegar with some basil thrown in.

If I am feeling fancy? I'll throw some artichoke hearts or olives in to mix?

Waldorf goes over big in this house, three or four times a week. I like Greek salad and spinach and mushroom salad with feta or blue cheese the best. The kid next door just brought us a bunch of strawberries, nicest ones I've seen. She must have picked them herself, yippppppeeee! Summer rocks!

Oh ya, a nice change for weenies is make a simple biscuit dough with shredded cheese and wrap around the weeny and bake it in the oven. I put onion and garlic pwdr. any kind of cheese and some green onions in the biscuit dough. Kid and big peeps like it!
