    Monitoring your pet

    Hi guys!

Can you, please, advise me some kind of a petcamera, I mean is there any ways to entertain cats remotely? My cat is so energetic, but I've got little time being at home and feel guilty about it.

Maybe you've used one and it's really worth buying?

    Tnx in advance!

Hmm, I know some folks have set up a fish tank to give the cats something to watch while they are away! And another friend noticed her kitty liked watching birds out the window, so set up a bird feeder outside so he could watch them all day while she's at work!

Cats do sleep a lot, so having play time when you are home is more important than while you are away! Fishing pole type toys are great because even a tired human can flick his or her wrist while kitty jumps and pounces! "Fetch" is also something some cats enjoy!

Thank you a lot for your advice!
Fish tank is interesting idea, but I think there is high possibility for fish to be in danger

I play with him a lot when I'm at home, but apparently he needs more attention - everything is damaged when I get back home...

Okay - interactive toys - like things that hang from doorknobs, toys that make noise when you pounce on them, Kong toys where you hide the food inside and he has to work to get it out ... and of course vigorous play with you whenever possible - before you leave in the morning even! a couple ping ping balls in a bathtub are good for tiring out a kitty when you are not yet fully awake ,,,

You could always buy a 2-way baby monitor so you can talk with your cat while you're away, I suppose. I guess they make the pet equivalent to this, but companies love taking something that already exists on the "human" side, marketing it to pet parents, and charging double the price for it, though.

If you're coming home to "everything destroyed", that means your cat is bored and is making his own fun. Cats need interaction and entertainment, too. You can buy several inexpensive toys to keep around the house to help keep your kitty entertained. Karen's suggestions above are great -- a bird feeder outside a window they can watch, a fish tank, are all great ideas. Here are some of my favorite inexpensive toys:

    Cat Dancer: http://www.amazon.com/Cat-Dancer-101...active+cat+toy
This is probably the most inexpensive toy you can buy for your cat, yet they will probably use it the most. Stick one in every doorway in rooms they frequent, or attach one to their cat tree.

    Turbo Scratcher: http://www.amazon.com/Bergan-Turbo-S...active+cat+toy
This is the most played with toy that I have for my cats, and I got mine for free. Espeon plays with this at LEAST every single night. You can buy refills for the cardboard in the center very very very cheap on amazon (but they're like triple the price if you buy it from petco, etc).

    Sunny Seat: http://www.amazon.com/Sunny-Seat-Win...rds=sunny+seat
Use this in a window with a bird feeder nearby. I was very skeptical of this product at first, but after reading only raving reviews about it, my BF and I are convinced and are going to order one.

And for some toys on timers that will turn on and off randomly to provide more stimulation for your kitties...

    Automatic Cat Teaser: http://www.amazon.com/FroliCat-Flik-...active+cat+toy
    Twitch Teaser Cat Toy: http://www.amazon.com/FroliCat-HC1-T...active+cat+toy

    Lazer Pointers: http://www.amazon.com/FroliCat-BOLT-...active+cat+toy
    http://www.amazon.com/FroliCat-DART-...active+cat+toy

Not sure what the difference between these two products are, as they appear to be from the same company. I've only personally used the BOLT one... one of my petsitting clients has it for their cat, and I would keep it on while I was away. It would randomly flick on while I was there visiting him, and he would always go nuts chasing it.

You could use any or all of these toys in conjunction with a camera so you can check in on your kitty from time to time. OR you can splurge and go for something that combines some of the above by allowing you to check in on and interact with your pet while you're away via a mobile app with the Pet Cube. Looks like it still is in the pre-order stage, but you can pre-order it with some extras for $179. https://petcube.com/

WOW! Thank you a lot for such a complete answer.

I checked out the Petcube - it's great and this is just what I need. I'll order it for sure.
    Thank you one more time!

  7. I have not found such cameras. But I know some people use wireless pet fences to block the radius of pets movement but I think it is not the best way.
