    My dad's not doing well

Just off the phone with my mom. For the last week my dads been going downhill. He's not eating, has no energy, has admitted that he's dying. He's not ready to go into the hospital yet. Mom says she's managing ok for now. Not sure if its the cancer or his aortic anuerism that's causing this. They see the doctor next Tuesday. Could use some good thoughts for them. Thanks.

    Hugs and prayers.

I know things have been tough between you and them. I hope that your dad passes peacefully. Glad your mom is managing ok.

Prayers and hugs and love for your parents and you, Gayle.

This sounds like time to contact hospice, if that is what your folks plan to do. They will be able to reassure your mom that things on track. Prayers for all of you from RI.

Thank you everyone. Dad's eating a wee bit of food now. But nothing like he used to. Still no energy. Mom reported today that he stayed in his robe and pj's all day, didn't feel like getting dressed. We'll see what comes from the Tuesday doctors appointment.

Called my mom as I was tired of stressing over the doctor visit. They didn't go. With the big snow dump Sunday they can't get the guy to do their driveway till this afternoon. So she cancelled the appointment.

Sorry about the trouble you're having, and the added snow on top of everything doesn't help I'm sure. Here's hoping your mom can reschedule the doc visit and things start looking better for your dad-- it's not always easy being the caretaker to aging parents...
