Thank you for the continued thoughts and prayers. We will be on our way to go get Sadie in about an hour. Please keep us in your thoughts today.
Karen, I think you are thinking of Cincy. She is our little low rider

Sadie's tumor was operable! It was a large, dumbbell shaped mass attached to the spleen, so both the tumor and the spleen came out. It will be a few days before we know if it was the type that spreads, but the vet didn't think like it looked like the kind that usually does. We will be picking her up in about an hour to transfer her back to the ER for overnight care, and she should be able to come home tomorrow. Keep the prayers coming for a good path report and a good recovery!
Great news. Prayers Sadie keeps getting better & stronger every day.

Awww, yes, that's right, it is Cincy that runs like that, you know I always get their names mixed up as I kind of think of them as part of a unit! SO glad the tumor was easy to remove, and hopefully she won't miss her spleen any more than I miss my gall bladder - which is to say not one bit!

Good Thoughts & Prayers sent Sadie's way for a quick recovery.
The frost is on the pumpkin & I've been BOO'D by two pet talk ghosts.
Thank you Fritz & Cassiesmom
Thanks guys for the continued prayers! We of course aren't out of the woods yet. She is still at the ER vet, resting on fluids and her red blood cells are still low, but hopefully will come back up soon.
The tumor wasn't what the vet expected when he opened her up. It was actually so large that is basically split her spleen. We have sent it out for pathology and we will know more in a few days, but she may need some chemo and we are parying that it was not a Hemangiosarcoma, which is a very aggressive form of cancer and what about 60-70% of these cases are. The vet said it did not visually look like one, but we won't know for sure for a few days.
If all goes well, the plan is still to bring her home tonight. I have already made arrangements to work from home tomorrow and I think my BIL is going to watch her on Thursday.
Still thinking and praying for Sadie and hoping for a good pathology report.

Sadie got home about 5:30 last night and is doing pretty well. She has eaten 2 cans of food (fork fed to her of course!), but she isn't wanting to drink much yet. I am hoping the 72 hours of IV fluids just have her feeling abit water logged and she will start drinking again soon. If not, I'll shove it down her throat with a syringe She has gone out to pee a few times, but for the most part is just resting.
We are going back to the vet to check her PVC number (packed cell volume, related to red blood cells) this morning. It was 28% when we took her to the ER after surgery, 25% at midnight, 26% at 7:30 yesterday morning, 27% at 4 pm yesterday. Normal is 35%, but of course it would be lower right after surgery. Want to see it continue to increase and critical part is that is doesn't drop below 20% which is when they start talking blood transfusion.
Glad to hear Sadie is home and resting! Here's hoping for good numbers.
