Hi Chester, it's a pleasure to meet you. You sure are a handsome boy--all shiny and sleek. There is no doubt but that you have a wonderful home and are loved. You also sound sweet and gentle and I hope you have many more years with your family, both human and feline. Congrats on being COTD!

My goodness I was certainly surprised to see my Chester getting top honors today. He is napping in my recliner right at this moment but when he wakes up, I'll read him all the wonderful reples to his thread.

We have thunderstorms on the way so he will most likely be in hiding soon.

We both thank everyone for taking time to say hi to him today!!!
No matter what anyone does, someone some where will be offended some how!!!!

    Beautiful Black Boy!

What a wonderful story you have Chester, and what a wonderful family also. God was sending you to the right place. And yes, unless there is a frantic person going door to door looking for a kitten endlessly, he does not need to go back to wherever he came from. My Mr. Jinx was only about 5 weeks old and he was running around in a busy area downtown, across the street from the bank I worked at. That was in the fall of 2000 also. I was out on break and saw him run into a parking lot, but he took off and hid somewhere and I had to go back in to work. Two hours later when I left work, I saw him across the street again as soon as I walked out the door (God's will). He ran down the block and ended up going into an open garage and the rest is history. He is my number one guy for sure, and there is no question that God meant for him to be with me. I have three pure black male cats, all with very distinct personalities. Little baby Shadow came to me thru a friend at the age of three weeks, so I bottle fed him for a few weeks. Salem and Angus just wandered into our yard and never left. We run a cat friendly place here. Many strays and nobody is ever looking for them. Have a super duper great Cat of the Day Chester! God Bless you and your family.

    Chester

I loved seeing Chesters fab. photos today! What a fine black cat, excellent COTD! I've had lotsa black cats through the years and they were all wonderful. One exception was Granny's, he was evil But looking back, I'm sure he had his own good reasons Hope Chester and his huge, grand family enjoy his special day, peace and love

    Handsome Chester

Chester, what a beautiful and handsome boy you are. I too have a black kitty named Boo. She is very chatty too and I'm hoping she gets to be COTD here before Halloween. Her white deaf sister, Coconut was COTD back during Christmas in 2009. I agree with your Mommy about black cats. They are wonderful and anyone thinking about adopting one shouldn't hesitate to do so. Enjoy your day pretty boy.

    Beautiful Chester!

Thank goodness you saw him in the tree and rescued him. He is obviously very well known on this website and sure deserves his Cat of the Day honor. He reminds me of my fella Shadow (RB) and I know the next pussycat I adopt will also be a black kitty. Not sure if any of you also feel that it's hard to adopt one that closely resembles one who has just crossed over the Rainbow Bridge. And the black cats always outnumber all the others in rescues and shelters (superstitions I guess) - sad. They are beautiful and anyway since so many of us often wear black it makes their hairs less visible!
Please have your pets sterilized as soon as possible to lower, and one day hopefully eliminate, unwanted and abandoned pets. It IS our responsibility. Adopting from a shelter also helps - encouraging breeders just adds to the overpopulation.

    Charming Chester!

You are a charmer, Chester! Such a sweet, easy-going, LUCKY cat! Oh man...don't even get me started on what I'd like to do to those irresponsible 'cat people'...
I love your pics...the one of you 'bringing the dip' is too cute - lol!
May everyday be Cat of the Day for you, Chester...especially Halloween!
