    red-eared slider turtle

I have a new baby slider turtle. Help! He keeps burrowing into the bark I have for him. He hasn't eaten anything since I got him almost a week ago. I put him in his water about every 3 hours and he seems to enjoy it but then he crawls out into the bark. I put him into a separate container filled with turtle food, crickets, carrots and even baby food and he won't touch any of it. He just crawls to get out. I do have a reptile light on him as well as a heating pad underneath his cage. Please help!

    Baby RES

Young turtles can be finicky.... but they are also prone to being sick.... my suggestion is to call a local herp vet or society... If you don't know where the closest one is let me know and I will post them here for you.

One other thing is if you are in the northern hemisphere your RES may be looking to hibernate... so you will need help creating a proper enviornment for this to happen as well as know when the little one needs to wake up....
