WESTLAKE, Ohio (AP) - Ohio police say a man brought a gun, ammunition and several knives to a showing of the latest Batman movie.
Westlake Police Sgt. Mark Krumheuer said 37-year-old Scott A. Smith, of North Ridgeville, brought the weapons to a Saturday showing of "The Dark Knight Rises" for "his protection," but he would not elaborate.
Smith is married and has a one daughter, the CBS affiliate in Cincinnati reported.
Last month, a gunman killed 12 people at a showing of the same movie in Aurora, Colo.
Police say a theater manager and an off-duty police officer working security stopped Smith and found the weapons inside a bag they thought looked suspicious. Smith was arrested and remains jailed.
Krumheuer says Smith will be arraigned this week on weapons charges. A message was left for Smith's attorney.

We had a whackjob in a theater here in CT. An immigration lawyer, with a permit to carry, went to see the movie in New Haven. He had his gun in the back of his wasteband. Cops were called. He was arrested. The guy said he carried it with him to the movies because it didn't get out till after 1 a.m. and he thought he needed protection. He said that according to the Constitution he has the right to bear arms. I'll be curious as to how this will play out.

What is WITH these nut cases??? I am totally dumbfounded!!!

Of course! Everyone knows you should not go to the movies without
a gun, ammunition and several knives
!! Or to a house of worship, or a grade school, or a beauty salon, or a college lecture, or a shopping mall etc, etc, etc. etc! Protection!
