About two months ago, my guinea pig, Sally, wouldn't eat or drink. We took her to the vet who said she became dehydrated. To treat her, we had to by her special food and feed her through a syringe with crushed pellets, apple juice, and water. A couple days later she was back to her good ole self!
Ever since then she has been eating, drinking, running around, playing, squeaking, just like any healthy guinea pig would do. But today when I came home from school, it was the complete opposite. Usually, I come home and say "Hi Sally!" and she will be at the cage door squeaking and ready to come out to her playpen. Today, I noticed she wasn't making any noises like she usually does. I looked into her cage and she just just laying there (legs spread out, on her tummy) I took her out and she felt like dead weight, she didn't even try holding herself up. I also noticed some discharge from her butt which was never there before. I tried feeding her through the syringe again, but this time she wouldn't take it.
The weird part is this morning she acted completely normal, but a couple hours later, she seems now lifeless.
We have a 4 o'clock vet appt today. Wish her luck.
