    Very special" Whiskers"


    I just want you to know that i KNOW the LOVE of a 20 year old cat. The MOOKERS was 17 (Persian) when one day, i let her out , and when i went to call her in she had VANISHED. That was July 21, 2011. i just knew she was gone, when she didn't answer my call to come in. My heart sunk for i knew she was GONE.
    In October, i was blessed to become Muggzy's human, she is a silver point Himmie, and we have figured her age to be about 4 months now. She made "Cat of the DAy Nov. 12 (Go Look!) But i want to tell you, The Mookers felt all of that 17 years as did my husband, who passed away of a stafh infection in 2009. That cat would not leave his sight, and slept with him always. Old Cats Know stuff, so cherish Whiskers.

    I can tell you have lived a life filled with love, and I agree with your daddy that that is probably why you are still a happy and healthy boy. Love and attention is so important for a good health. I hope you get spoiled with extra treats today and have fun! May you keep your family company for a long time yet!

    It's always so special when we have a senior kittyzen as our COTD. I feel very honored to meet you this morning, Whiskers! 20 years is a wonderful long time to have cuddled with your Daddy. I'm sure there are many cuddles to come, too. Don't forget your Mom, too; she loves you very much.

    I too have known the love of being the Companion of 20 years Cats as My Dream Cat Michael, and My Purrfect Princess were with me for that time.
    Whiskers certainly does not show his age, and despite being about 100 in human yeras still has a good quality of life and is still quite the Great Cat Friend.

    Cats like fine wines get better as they age, and our mutual love just grows and grows stronger every yera, and Whiskers is a good mentor as well for hios younger Cat Buddies!!!

    Yay for Whiskers! I always love it whrn a fellow New Mexican makes COTD! My grandfather lived to 102 and credited it to green chile, which you have some of the best in Las Cruces Whiskers!Maybe you have enjoyed some yourself! Enjoy your special day!

    Lots of love and living in gorgeous New Mexico. A wonderful life for a wonderful Cat of the Day. I am very impressed to meet a 20 year old cat! (I hope my Edwina and Eddie live as long...)

    But perhaps it is karma. You have adopted a new mommy and love her - even if not as much as your daddy. Such kind and loving behavior is repaid with a long and happy life.

    Hi there Whiskers! Happy Cat of the Day to you! Nothing warms my heart more than seeing a most deserving senior being honored here on Cat of the Day! How lucky your Daddy is, having been blessed with your devotion and unconditional love these many years, Whiskers! And having been a "daddy's girl" myself, I know first hand how special a bond you and he share! But of course your Mommy loves you too, and no doubt she much appreciates you allowing her to "stay!" And you are so right, Whiskers; the key to a long and happy life IS love! I have been lucky enough to have had 2 kitties to live well past the age of 20 (Hambone and Buddy), and I have no doubt that you and your family will share many more wonderful, carefree, NM sun soaked, love filled years together!

    Thanks for sharing your beautiful self, your heartwarming story with us all, Whiskers! Just what I needed to warm my cold and very snowy day! Enjoy your big day in the spotlight, sweetheart! Hope it's a very special day of celebration, filled with lots of love...and milk!
