    Tons of Turtles!

Lots and lots and turtles of all kinds. I drove out of state yesterday to spend the day with a friend, and she is a licensed wildlife rehabber, and is also heavily involved in turtle and tortoise rescue and conservation work. And she has TONS of rescued and previously injured/disabled/neglected turtles and tortoises. It was so much fun getting to be hands-on with all the different reptiles, and getting to take so many of their pictures. There were more that I didn't get the chance to photograph throughout the day, but here is quite a few of the turtles.

    Lots of turtle pics ahead!

This is a box turtle, he was injured and only has 3 legs (and a tiny stump left to his other leg).

This is a male 3-Toed Box Turtle that I rescued last year, and he was transported to my friend to live with her. It was so nice seeing him again! He has several deformities in his mouth, legs and shell.

This fella came to her last year with an extreme case of shell rot, because he was being housed in poor conditions by the people that owned him. He's a water turtle and they were housing him with a bearded dragon. He's doing great now, they just finished adding a new pond that's for him, and he's loving it.

These are two Red-Foot Tortoises. The first one has some shell deformities from neglect from his previous owners...

This is a very old, very deformed Red-Foot Tortoise, that was rescued last year and transported across the US to get to her. He was kept in pitiful captive conditions for 17 years, and as a result, is unbelieveable deformed. He had no use of his back legs when she got him, but now his back legs are working wonderfully and he gets around great. He has such an amazing personality too.

Great pictures! That poor old guy, the last one you show, has been through so much, it must be great to see him thriving at last!

I have never seen a Diamondback terrapin, such a pretty turtle! Glad to know all these guys are happy and safe!

OH MY! Thank you for showing all of those turtles. They are beautiful creatures and it's great that someone cares for them when they need help.
