    Storms in the Carolina

This week is Spring Break for our school system so I traveled to Fayetteville, delaying my trip until the storms traveled through our area. Sadly the storms beat me to Fayetteville, damaged my alma mater and the military base and flattened neighborhoods. No power for us, but house is okay. So I'm at BN using my battery power, no sockets available, to download pix off of the camera.

Will post pix when I get back to Greenville or sooner if power returns.

Bn doesn't have a time limit on using the power sockets for your computer.

Power might be back on tomorrow. In the meantime, I've bought some magazines to read.

We are glad you are safe. Thanks for checking in, and letting us know! I hope all our other Carolinians are okay as well, and they and their loved ones are somewhere safe. Tornados are just amazing and terrifying!

I saw some of the horrible damages from these storms. I've been
thinking about all the PT members throughout the affected parts of
the country. I am glad you were able to stay out of the worst of it.

I drove through one of the affected areas today. My Alma Mater does not appear damaged, except for window damage. The lands around it were devastated. The sport fields, buildings, and trees were ripped up. The neighbor hood across the street had terrible damage, some houses are missing/gone, others had partial damage, siding gone, walls gone, etc.

The southern portion of the tornado's path is so bad you can't get into the area.

I do have video, but I need to edit it. I went alone today and it's hard to aim correctly and drive. The bro is going with me tomorrow to get better footage.

I know the ktloveskitties lives in Fayetteville, but her area wasn't affected as far as I know.

The death toll for North Carolina has risen.

I felt so sad when I drove through it the first time today.

Yet there are parts that do not look like a tornado came through.

Thousands are without power. We got ours back sometime after noon. We went out for breakfast, so we could have something warm. The restaurants were busy today. And people were shopping and out and about because people needed something to do. Flashlights and batteries were in short supply.

Some schools are closed tomorrow due to the damage.
