Small Dog Meet Up = photo heavy

Last evening we attended the Small Dog Meet Up. We haven't had a meeting in MONTHS! Hence, I forgot one important thing: to put bandannas on my pups so they can easily be spotted in photos and videos. I only took the younger 3. Tasha and Lacey, I was able to identify. Willy is in several group shots; he is wearing a red collar.

Here are the photos - 48 of them! - as a slide show:

And some videos of all the action -- and noise, lol.

    Video 4: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qqVGLzmtz2Y

Loads of dogs, tons of fun, and 3 tired out pups on the drive home.

WOW - that's a whole lotta Fluffs. Of course I couldn't tell who was who. It looks like all the pups there were having a grand old time - it really showed in the last 2 videos too - a whole lotta blitzin goin on!

And just why did my Marlin Darlin have to stay home?? - and Sugar too??? Awwww - not fair.

A lot of Fluff lovers up your way - right.??? I only saw one Pom and one ShihTzu.

Ellie, there are a lot of bichon in this particular group as I notified the bichon rescue I am / was volunteering with. Most anyone in this area who adopted knows about it now.

Marlin is having major issues, with his arthritis and with cognition. He has a tough time getting settled, needs a 2 high level of pillow or pet bed. He loses me, even right here in the house, and starts spinning and crying in a panic as he doesn't know where I went. I've "lost" him on several walks at the farm recently. I can see him, but he has no clue where I am. Plus, he follows anything that moves and has twice walked off with another dog and dog owner. He is an old boy. Marlin never liked these meet ups anyhow, he would just pace for a bit and then lie down behind a chair to keep out of the way of all that puppy energy!

Sugar has become quite protective and snaps at any dog who is not in her pack, who gets within 10 feet of me. She never liked these or played, either. She is a year older than Marlin; aging better, but a bit too old for this stuff, now.

Awww - poor Marlin - it's no fun getting old - and I speak from experience!! I think it's harder on us just seeing them get old, than it is on them tho. We know what's coming, but they don't. Lucky dogs..........

How old are your 2 seniors now? Sparky is 12 and still sharp as a tack. Doesn't miss a trick (or a meal), and he really hasn't slowed down much. He is more clingy than he used to be tho. Myndi is 15, and considering that she nearly died last summer, is still doing good. Her hearing isn't what it used to be, and of course she sleeps a lot, but when she's awake, she's still a pistol. The K/D food seems to be managing her kidney disease quite well too. I just love them for every day I'm fortunate enough to have them with me.

Kisses and hugs to The Flock from me.

    Sugar is 13.
Marlin is 12 BUT he is a rescue. When he was surrendered, we were told he was age 9, but my vet thought he was older even back then.

Lacey is 8, Tasha and Willy are both 7 -- Willy is 6 months older than Tasha.

Lacey's age is a guess as she came from the city shelter, found roaming the streets, so no actual data on her.

Sugar, Tasha and Willy, I have their exact birth dates.

    Lovely Pictures

Lovely pictures of the dogs, especially the Bichons, looks like Brady and Willy were having a good time dancing, they all remind me of Fritz, still brings a tear to my eye when I see a Bichon.Looks like they all had a good time and were a little pooped out from it,Sandie's dogs especially.
thanks very much devon. I have been boo'd.

Thanks, Barry! I think the dogs do enjoy it, they all head home tired. And the owners are more relaxed, being as there are no big dogs present to worry about.

Wow, there were lots of small dogs at the meet-up! I agree with Asiel, what a neat variety!

Happy Weekend, Fluffs and kitties, mum and granddad! I'm kind of with Marlin Darlin and Sugar on this subject. You all go to the party and have a great time... I'll stay home with my feet up, tea and a good book.

Aaahh, I have been defrosted! Thank you, Bonny and Asiel!

It looks like everyone had a great time. Tasha sure seems like a mama's girl.

    Thank you both!

Tasha has bonded with me, so if she gets tired or overwhelmed in a situation out of the house, she comes right to me.
