    Me and my gal

I visited my hawk friend Isis this weekend and my friend Mary Ann took some pictures of us. Here are two of the best. I can’t tell you how fabulous and soft she is. . .can you imagine that I can do scratchies with a hawk? ! ? I love her more than I can say.

Awww, a hawk head tilt!! Too cute! That is amazing.
Our goal in life should be - to be as good a person as our dog thinks we are.

Thank you for the siggy, Michelle!

Wow! She is beautiful! Here is proof that you gave her scritchies! It looks to me like she was happy to receive them. (not that I know much about hawks-- I don't-- but just the position of her body and wings makes me think she was content) And her head tilt in the second picture, priceless I like the pattern on her chest and wings in the first picture, with the light and dark.

Isis is a beauty. Is she a red tailed hawk? Look at those talons.

We have a female red tailed hawk named Flora that has raised young in our woods the last 9 years now. Her mate is named Flint. They are here year round.

Lucky you - to have such an awesome relationship with this beautiful creature. It's obvious that she loves and trusts you. I took a moment to read her write up and admire her pics in POTD - I hadn't seen it before. What a lucky bird to have the love and care at the sanctuary for the rest of her days.

It was my pleasure and delight to share the new pics yesterday and the POTD story with everyone. My friendship with Isis has been one of the highlights of my life!!

The other day, in a moment of silly affection, I told my husband, "You are the love of my life, except for Isis."

He thought about it for a moment then said, "I can live with that!"

It's amazing because everyone who visits with us when Isis and I are sitting together can feel how magnificent she is and sees how much love there is. When I scratch her chest (we call it "scratchy-scratch) she leans forward into it and sometimes gives little squeaks. . .I think she likes it I LOVE it!

She is beautiful! We have hawks in our yard sometimes as we live near the provincial park but I have never been so close to one! Lucky you!
