Bay Colony Cluster Dog Show photos

Bay Colony Cluster Dog Show is this weekend, 4 days (started Thursday). This is the 2d year it is in Providence. I spent a few hours there today!

There were close to 5,000 dogs entered to show over the course of the 4 days; but only FOUR bichons!
This is Polar. Met him before, at the show I attended in August. He LOVES to smile, and do the 'bichon wave.'

This is Topper. He is 7 months old, and still has a bit of the puppy apricot showing on his ears. He won Best (bichon) Puppy in Show; he was the ONLY puppy, lol!

Here are grooming pics of Pearl and Fergie. Pearl is a Grand Champion, already; she is age 11, and she took Best of Breed today. Fergie's owner saw Pearl was here, and thought it wasn't even worth showing but as he had already paid the registration fee, he went ahead. He says NO ONE stands a chance when Pearl is present, lol!

Pearl is on the right, almost out of the photo, and Fergie. Pearl's coat is the WHITEST of white ever!

    Fergie

    LOTS more photos to come!

    Waiting to enter the Ring:

Pearl is on the left in this one, I think.

    Topper

And in the Ring, during the judging.

Showing is hard work, naps are needed, lol!

The Bedlington Terrier is another of my FAVORITE breeds. There were only 2 present. They are SOOOO soft!

Some more doggie photos to come.

These are the various trophies to be awarded.

I took these pics for Monica, Honda and Doc. These 2 needed to work off some energy!

Kron was also there; met him at the August show too. He is 200 pounds of Bull Mastiff, a brindle, who is also a certified pet therapy dog. He had a LOT of competition present in his breed. Kron eats 6 to 8 cups of food daily. Not an awful lot considering his size; he is not an active dog and doesn't burn off much.

Female Akita, she was so small compared to the males!

    Sibe

    Standard poodle

    Great Pyrenees

This Dobie's ears were just awesome, so full of curves and curl!

    Wiemaraner

    That's all!

They ask you not to use a flash. I took tons of photos, but with no flash, many came out too blurry. Sorry about that. I really enjoyed walking around, seeing all the various breeds, and talking with folks.

Oooh those coats! I see dogs get shaved down every day so it's funny to see them all in full show coats!

It looks like you had a great time. The Bichons look like fluffy white clouds. I bet they're soft too. I really don't know anything about dog breeds so it's nice to see pictures. Thanks for sharing these with us.

Wow, the fur cutting on the Bichon is SO ROUND. Lol And thanks for the dalmatian pictures, I was getting ready to type, what no dalmatians? And then I saw them LOL! I am going to a four day cluster show next weekend in Cleveland. LOTS of dogs present... and Delta will be doing rally on Thursday. Doc will start working with his breeder then too. I will repay the favor of bichon pictures ;-) Lol With by brand new camera. Lol

I am so glad you are enjoying the pics! Especially as, when I got home, I saw I had taken 82 photos but only 46 came out, what with using no flash. I really tried to cover many, many breeds. I'd move, the dog would move, someone would step in between us.

The online site says there were 7 Dalmations there; I have no idea where the other 5 were hiding, I never saw them for sure, lol!

Monica, that sounds like a great show you are headed out to! GOOD LUCK!

BIchons are supposed to be ROUND, he hee. Round heads, round chimney stack legs, round, round FULL DENSE BALLS OF FLUFF! Very hard to keep such a coat free of mats, and you will NEVER see that show cut on my flock of fluffs, I can assure you.
