oh Robin that isn't what I meant and you know it!
I am not timely on Keegan's shots b/c I don't want to overdose her. But did you happen to see the 2 dogs out there that had no hair? I was worried about Mange or a contagious skin condition.

That was what I was thinking too. I know BG has a fee, and I would certainly pay it to help weed out some of the losers that come to Findlays with their nasty animals.

Yes, that is my only thing... I do not keep with a yearly vaccine schedule for the same reason... but I could always buy the vaccine with record and not use it :-P Oh, I'm so naughty hahahaha

And Robin you know your dogs well enough to leave them at home if you think there might be a personality conflict b/n them and another dog. Not everyone does that. I remember being there several years ago and seeing a lady in there with 4 other dogs and when she saw me coming she grabbed her dogs and asked me to stand up by the track b/c one of her dog's was extremely dog aggressive and reactive. She muzzled him before she left and she very chipper when she left and said "THANKS SO MUCH FOR STANDNING OVER THERE AND HAVE A GREAT DAY!" I know all dogs need exercise but THANK GOD that lady knew her dog well enough to warn me and not let me go in and have my dog attacked.

Monica I know I told you that our park here in Upper isn't that big and there isn't a lot of other dogs but that's ok b/c I LIKE it that way. Keegan doesn't get overly juiced about the dog park anymore. She's content to hang at home or my parents or a friends house. And let me tell you that place is a Godsend when I watch Annie (the white dog I had that day) b/c she is used to a fenced in yard and I don't have one. And its UBER-CLOSE to me - so handy to run her down there 2-3 times a day. Now if I ever need a dog park to socialize a dog to several dogs it isn't ideal but to just have a place for them to stretch their legs is fabulous!
I don't keep Keeg on a vaccine schedule at her age - pros vs cons really - I would like to have her titered to see if they are needed at all but when I asked my vets office about them when the vet tech asked another if we do "taters" here, I knew I wasn't going to get anywhere fast!

Ohh Staci, I know, I just get to feeling so guilty sometimes and like a bad pet owner and it just came out in that post. I'm sorry about that.

Lol >.< 'taters' That is what I plan on doing for Delta this year. I'm calling them that from now on. hahaha

But Keegan probably does have natural immunity from her age now...

Anywho, Delta entertains herself at the dog park and will just run by herself. Lol She's rather easy to please. I like a few dogs to be at the dog park, but not a mass of them... gets too overwhelming, especially now because the dog park is so small. -.-

I haven't been tot he BG park in years, but it was nice when we wnt. Downside was no source of water, and only a bench to sit on., and not much shade. Positives were that it had 3 sections, and 1 had agility equipment to play on.

Toledo keep strying to get a park, but the city counsel is hesitant. They got so far as to start taking applications, then things took a step back. I didn't apply yet becuase I wasnt to make sure it is a go before I pay the fees ($60 first dog, $25 each additional). They are also at first limiting it to the first 300 people. The original place they were going to put it is a nice park, but not too far from where a lot of the pit bull issues around town are, so I think the high fees are a deterent...maybe a steep one, I think any fees would be . Anyway, that park sorta fell apart and now they are looking for a new location.

The Toledo one has a whole bunch of rules. I was just reading about them. And expensive >.> I would possibly pay it if I was closer to Toledo and would use it more often...

I heard about one in Lima? It's on like... 1165 Sheriff Rd or something like that. I want to check that one out too.

The older man I was talking to when I first got there lives in Ada and has taken his dog to the one in Lima by the dog pound. he said pretty much same thing - no water and no place to sit. But taking water is easy enough. And a lawn chair or a blanket to sit on.

I'll go with the chair. I don't think i'd wanna set a blanket down on the ground knowing what all touches that same ground (and may still be partially there) LOL

I've really enjoyed all the photos of everyone. I've commented on some on facebook, but its great to come here & read the comments too. So good to see your pups again! They all look terrific. As do all of you - I hope we can make it back sometime for one of the picnics, it would be so fun to be there again. Because of Jack's "issues" with small dogs, we don't go to the dogpark here at all, I sure do miss it. It was one of our favorite things to do when we lived in Findlay. Star and Sherman loved it, whether they were in a crowd or just the 2 of them. Nice to see Gabby has another pup now! Thanks again for such wonderful posts.

Saw this in the paper front page on Saturday.

They are now going to charge a fee at Lansing's Dog Park ($40 annual or $5 a day). Those who pay the fee will get an electronic key card.
