Las Vegas Dock Dogs pictures!

I took Jasper out to the dock last week and we had a blast! He doesn't like the water but there were a lot of hyped up dogs for him to play with and lots of people to pet him, so he was happy!! We watched two heats of the competition, as well as an open period where anyone who has a water-loving pooch can bring their dog out to jump. It was HOT, and some of the dogs did not want to get out of the water, so there were kiddy pools set up for splashing around it too. I took a lot of pictures, I'll share some of my favorites here...I got a lot better at timing my pictures after a few hours, the first half of the pictures were mostly of the empty dock!

There were more labbies than any other breed at the event!

Malinois were the second most popular breed at the event.

Some of the dogs were reluctant to make the big leap.

Most of them didn't hesitate though!

This Weimeraner, Molly, had never jumped before today!

Pit bulls are GOOD at this sport!

This little Jack Russell came to a screeching halt at the end of the dock and then leaped straight into the air from a standstill every time! He needs to be there for the vertical jumps tomorrow!

Banzai!!!

He was my favorite jumper of the day.

If the dog isn't a strong swimmer they get a life vest.

This little girl's dog was one of the only dogs who could hold a sit-stay long enough for the handler to get to the end of the dock. He was an impressive athlete too!

The English Springer Duffy had some awesome jumps!

If only I had the energy to keep up with a Mal...

Clearly, these dogs don't have ANY fun! Ha!

It always loooks like such fun for the dogs! I know Finn always has a good time, but his family is a bit busy at the moment ...

Great pictures. I love the pit bull of course. They are really agile.

I need to find a place to take Dixie she would LOVE it. I bet it was fun to watch.

There's Mister Jasper! Looking adorable as usual.

We saw some dock dogs in Virginia City the first weekend of May when we were up there. I could have stood there and watched all day! There was a little (not a mini) Aussie that did VERY good! And I think her name was Zoe.
