    Stamps to the Rescue

Not sure if this has been posted and I missed it, so I apologize if this is a duplicated effort.

The USPS is releasing a set of 10 stamps with real shelter animals's pics that have been adopted. It's raising $ to feed shelter animals. I pre-ordered 3 books today because they won't be released until April 30th.

I saw them advertised last time I was in my post office, and marked the calender to buy some. Good reminder, thanks!

Thanks for letting us know about this. I hadn't heard anything about it. I will certainly be getting LOTS of those stamps!

i just clicked on the Web site and saw where you can pre-order them ... I'm going to need at least 2 sets, one to mail and one to keep so I will pre-order when I get my income tax refund back. I think I will put this on the shelter's facebook too.

The money goes to HSUS who only spend about 1/2 of one percent of the money they take in on shelters. Is there any guarantee this is going directly to shelters and not just more for them to lobby and spend on advertising? Really you would do a lot better to just donate a bit when you can to your local shelters.

If you really want to help your local post office workers AND shelters, go to your local PO to buy them, and don't buy them online.

I do donate locally and I also rescue and foster. I do plenty to give back, I just think this is a great idea to raise awareness of shelter animals.

    You missed my point somewhat.

Buy the stamps to help out, and if you do, instead of ordering them online, go down to the local post office and buy them in person.

It will help someone keep their job as well as helping a shelter animal.

Has anyone tried that Halo cat or dog food on their pets?

    Just wondering.
