I rescued Bonnie several years ago. When I found her she was matted and had a bloodied ear. I clipped her fur, and gave her a good bath. I worked from home at the time, and after cleaning her up and giving her some good grub, I placed a pillow on the floor behind my office chair and told her to lie down there. Bonnie instinctively obeyed, and she has been with me since.
Bonnie has gone to the Rainbow Bridge. I do not know how old she was, but Bonnie lived with me for several years, and she had lived with another for a few years prior to that. The little girl loved life, and she loved her daddy. Bonnie was a "mother hen" to the other dogs, always checking on everybody else, licking their wounds, and soothing their hurts.
Bonnie was the first of my many canine rescues, and her demise carries with it a special hurt. I shall long grieve her passing. I loved Bonnie Girl, and I shall miss her for a long time.
Rest in Peace, my sweet baby girl. Run fast and play hard at the bridge, and Daddy will be along shortly.
