RIP Hairy Ari...

I got a very difficult call this morning from Dorothy, the woman who adopted Ari.

Ari passed away last night. The vet determined it was an aneurysm. He was 9 years old.

Records show the age limit for breeds such as Air and MooShoo is 10. MooShoo would've been 11.

Ari, you were so loved, my precious boy. You came from a very crappy environment thanks to a hoarder in New Haven, to a very loving, caring home. You will never be forgotten.



Play hard at the rainbow bridge my love. Give MooShoo, Mollie Rose and Marina Mar all my love.

Donna, I am so very, very sorry to read this. I remember Ari, and the part you played in his life was very special. I fear helpful words fail me on this run of bad luck for you - as a friend I can only offer my most heartfelt condolences and strong wishes for your luck to change very soon. Our Awesome Angels Companions Angels Welcoming Commitee are meeting with Ari now and Ari is getting his wings of Silver and Gold now, making him an Official Awesome Animal Angel.
What a Handsome Cat Ari is , and how wonderful it is that he found such a Great Furr Ever Home after that rough start.
He certainly will be welcome amid All of Our Awesome Friends and he will be able with their help to find a place where Ari can reunite with his Family in Paradise.

So sorry to read this Donna. It must have been very quick, which is a blessing in itself, and he didn't linger and suffer. None the less, it's always difficult to accept. I never knew that these cats had such a relatively short life span, as compared to others.

Thanks everyone. Ari was very special and a bit "odd" looking. But he was a wonderful, loving cat who was cherished by both me and Dorothy.

Is there a reason why Sphynx's life span is usually only for 10 years? Just curious.

I'm so sorry about Ari. He was well loved at the end, to make up for his rough start.

Losing 5 cats (including the two 2 day old babies) in less than 6 months has taken it's toll on me.

I looked up the life span of a Sphynx and it says they have the same span as any other cat. It just seems very strange that both MooShoo and Ari died of the same thing (aneurysms) around the same age. I'm, wondering if it has something to do with in-breeding.

My heart is broken again (still).

Oh, Donna, I am so very sorry for you and Dorothy both over the loss of your beautiful, precious Ari. Thanks to both of you, he came to know what home and love and safety and comfort are. God bless you both for all you did for him.
