Knowing you have something to look forward to will give you soemthing to work towards and focus on. Start a kitty fund and put loose change in it - its amazing how quickly these little jars fill up and you don't really miss the cash either

    the cat is precious....

I love it.....and the "loose change" idea is a good one too!

It's awesome. How do you think your kitties will like it?

It's only about 8" tall, maybe 10". I have other statues and the cats just don't care. Mind you, this one is so natural...I'll place it on the floor and see what they think!

    In September, that is.

KAK found this same statue online for a GREAT deal! Looks like they only ship to the USA.

I've also started a payment on mine up here in CA, so don't really wanna back out...it's one I fell in love with after gazing at it for weeks.

Would make a great gift for someone special!

THANK YOU, KAK, for thinking of me when you saw this.

Holy mackerel - that's quite a difference in price!!!! YIKES!!!

If I were you, I would try to get back what was paid on the layaway and have someone in the States buy one and ship it too you. Then you could treat yourself to something else with the money you saved.......

Candace, you're very welcome. I thought the price was great too. They have many other wonderful cat items there as well.

Thing is...the statue I am paying on I have actually seen and held.

I am sure the online one is fine...or is it?

This particular statue is discontinued, so maybe that is why the deal is so good. But still...

I know I likely should get the cheaper one. I'll think about it...maybe paying someone here thru PayPal to order this one and pay the shipping...then just send it good old US Post, nothing fancy.

Then - if it IS the same one and in perfect shape, I will cancel the layaway here.

    Any volunteers?

    Thanks!

You could have it shipped here, and I could forward it to you ... if that would work! I know postage in Canada is more expensive than here, so you could figure that out, too ... (just go to usps.com if you know the weight, etc. of the package and it'll tell you to the penny!)

Update - the statue arrived at the Mayor's place today, and she shipped it to me via USPS. $37 plus $7.95 for shipping, and another $13.84 to get it to me.

    Still WAY below $180 (that's 50% off).

I don't know what to tell the nice layaway lady...

Thanks to KAK and Karen and all you who encouraged me here!

You're very welcome. Even though I wasn't looking for this cat statue, I'm glad that I remembered it well enough to think of you and give you the info. when I saw it. Hopefully you'll be able to get whatever money you've been paying towards the other one. If not I hope that you haven't given the lady too much money yet. You could just tell her that you've changed your mind and don't want it any more or you could say that you found it some where else for a much better deal. Good luck.

I just tried looking for it and it seems to be gone. Maybe others saw the link here and more orders were placed so they ran out of inventory. Luckily Candace decided to order one before they ran out. You could try to e-mail the company and attach the picture that Candace posted in the first post of this thread to see what happened to it.
