Random thought for today. Had two pieces of bread. Set one to toast, and left the room, it was burned on one side. When I was scraping off the burned bits, I accidentally dropped in in the trash can. Sigh. So I changed the setting and toasted the other piece. It was basically just warm bread, much too light, but I put the apple butter on it anyway. Not nearly as satisfying, no crunch whatsoever! How can people actually like "barely warmed bread" instead of crunchy toast?

    Ask your B-I-L.

Durned if I know, it just doesn't work for me.

I want to say that I am glad all the 'Christmas' commercials are done.

The music and marketing gets more ridiculous every year.

I REALLY didn't care for the car commercials that had kids asking how santa got the new car to them. I HATED the commercial in which the kid goes out to pick up the news paper and the parents open the garage door to reveal the new car.

As if the kid really cares?

He's still gonna be asked to be dropped off two blocks away from school, so why bother to impress him with a new car?

    --------------

I did really like the Planter's Peanut commercial with the nutcracker that shows up to the party.

    That was fun.

I am always glad when the commercials stop running, and they stop playing the same 3 pieces of Christmas music on repeat in the stores!

I wish there was a cat café in Chicago. I need a dose of purrs, head bumpies, snuggles and hugs today.

I might even welcome a lie, since at least it would elicit a verbal response.

I had planned to meet a friend for supper tomorrow ... but she had to cancel. I was looking forward to seeing her. Hope we can reschedule in a few weeks.

I finally paid off my mortgage a few days ago and I'm almost over the urge to tell every stranger on the street about it. Waahoo.
