I read this quote and liked it. (The version I read was translated slightly differently- I believe the book might have been originally in Italian.)

Susanna Tamaro: "“Be still and listen in silence to your heart. When it has spoken to you, rise up and follow it."

I am inordinately glad when the sparrows some drink from the tray of water under the little tree!

I had to elevate it, to keep the tender branches from getting eaten by the chipmunks, so now the water is more accessible!

I was getting out of the car last night after a quick supermarket run ... and I saw a skunk on the lawn alongside my building ! I've never seen one "up close" before. This guy was maybe 10 or 15 feet from my parking space, just standing there and looking at me. At first I thought it might have been a cat or maybe a raccoon. Then he walked under the light from the window and I realized he was a skunk ... yikes! One of my neighbors puts out food for the squirrels and chipmunks, so I'm sure the skunk was enjoying the buffet!

    How sweet the sound of
    Ice chiming against the glass
    In a glass of tea

    Pretty little notes
    Delicate and soft, I know
    It's a luxury

The MENSA workout - I scored 17/30. You get 30 minutes to answer 30 questions. It reminded me a bit of taking the ACT! Ouch!

Just tried the Rye Triscuits with caraway seeds! Yummm! I love Triscuits because they have a simple ingredient list, and nothing I m allergic to, but I decided to try these, and they are yummy too!

I meant," said Ipslore bitterly, "what is there in this world that truly makes living worthwhile?"
    Death thought about it.
CATS, he said eventually. CATS ARE NICE.

Our wedding is coming up - 61 more days left - What's there that's left to do? My mind is pretty much like a hamster on a spinning wheel.

Reason why I really do hate FaceBook:

Repetitive drama and b.s. posted over and over and always by the same people. Get a life. Who gives a rat's backside about your personal issues that are really non-issues, and the accomplishments that are just everyday occurrences in "normal" people's lives. UGH - nauseating to the max!

Yesterday was the Chicago Marathon and there were over 40,000 runners! The men's and women's winners were both from Kenya. It was a really nice day weather-wise, sunny, a little windy with temperatures in the 50s F. The overall Chicago Marathon record time was missed by less than one minute. I read in the paper that there were participants who had run many marathons before including some of the world's most famous ones, and a lot of people running their first one ever whose goal was just to finish it.
