    I'm in a demolition derby tomorrow!

    One of those fun demo. derbys where you race on a figure 8 track!

    I've been wanting to do it since I was 14 or 15, but the rules were you had to be 16. Then by the time I turned 16 you had to be 18. Then college got in the way and I didn't have any money to pay for it. Last year my twin brother, Adam, got to race in two and was going to do it again tomorrow but couldn't get the time off work. He asked me if I wanted to race his car! I'm excited and incredibly nervous.

    I don't have too high of expectations, I'm just excited to finally be a part of it...and race against my Dad.

    I'll update you all with pictures tomorrow!

    DUDE!

    Good luck, They closed down the 'local' track years ago so now we have to travel to go see any DD's.

    Have fun, rubber side up and keep you seat belt on, be nice to Dad, okay?

    HEY!
    None of that defeatist attitude!!
    WE all have very HIGH expectations for you!

    Remember some of the basics:

    * Protect your Front End!
    (Radiator, Fan, Water Pump, Steering Tires)
    Take your *HITS* with your Rear End or Passenger Side
    Do your *HITTING* in reverse - HIT with your REAR!

    * DON'T become a Sammich!
    If two cars come at you from opposite directions -
    GET outta Dodge FAST! ... RUN out of the way, let 'em *smack* each other ...
    then back up and get at least one of them!

    Keep Moving!

    Remember to *smack* someone within the inactivity time limit ...
    you can't go off and hide for too long or they'll flag you.

    Don't hit DAD too hard --- he might furget he knows ya!

    Keep 'er Runnin and have alotta PHUNN!!

    Hehe, Thanks Phred!

    Just got home! It was awesome, I think I found a new hobby!!

    I got third out of ten in my heat, unfortunately only 1st and 2nd get a trophy and run in the final heats.

    Dad got first in his heat, and got third in the race against the other first placers!

    I have pictures that I'll post tomorrow once I get back to school, and my Aunt took a video so I'll see if I can get that.

    Right on! Way to go! I have always wanted to do be in a demo derby! We have a big one on the 4th of July every year. It's not a race one though. It's a run into people till ya can't go anymore one.HAHA My friend Mande and I were going to do it last year, but she ended up getting pregnant and no other girl wants to do it. I can't wait to see pics!

    I only have a few pictures before the race, because my sister forgot the extra camera batteries. And all of the pictures that were taken during the race turned out crappy, since it was dark out. My Aunt did get videos of the races though, and maybe someday I'll get them.

    Here I am in the car just moments before the race

    Your *eyes* were a lil BIGGER when you got into the car in that
    third photo!

    Did you and the Furry Co-Pilot wear your Helmets for the race?

    Nice Decorative Touch with the matching Red/Orange "Racer's Tape Door Latches"!

    Ya looked *GOOD*!
