I KNOW that but maybe THEY don't know that. Its just been such a dog themed event for so long I think a lot of the KatKeepers just assume it save for the few that do come and we do enjoy the company of.. Course the other thing is maybe there just aren't that many people within driving distance. But I'm all for feigning ignorance!

Hey CARRIE --- where are ya? ... We NEED You!
I agree with this appracoh...afer Labor Day. If we call and talk to them ahead of time, we admit we know the new rule. This is so close to it taking effect, we play dumb. What is that whole thing about begging for forgiveness rather then asking perfmission and being denied?
Then after the picnic we can begin lobbying for next year. Just my opinion.

    She's RIGHT!

Anyway, "THEY" said it doesn't take effect till "AFTER the project" is completed ...
I read that as next year.

Hope someone brings bail money for me.

We're not going to be able to foster-care this time. We are having company all weekend.

For any of the non-dog folk, we have been to the last 3 picnics, and had a most wonderful time. Food was yummy, dogs are delightful, and most important the company cannot be beat!!

If you've never been before, give it a go. I remember the first time, figuring out who the posters were by checking out the dogs

I think we really should plead ignorance. After all, Margie (Phred's favorite secretary or administrative person or whatever) knew enough to call him about the bridge closing so she knows we are having this gathering and that some of us bring more than one dog SO if why didn't she tell him about the new rules? That just doesn't make sense to me. (I think I smell some chicken from here - I think they know it isn't a good idea to pi&& Pet Talk people off). Also I don't think there is any way they can deny the money we have donated to the dog park for trees, benches, the new pavilion, etc.

We don't go to the dog park any more - just too much going on to get the whole tribe there. But I remember well the days when we went almost every day. I can't tell you how many times I was out there by myself with my dogs. It just seems silly to make such a rule when there are people who can go out at odd hours when no one else can - or who will still go if it is hot or sprinkling or snowy or cold. Again this is the case of a few ruining it for everyone. And again how many people these days have just one dog.

Back to one dog per person - that means Christy will be okay to bring her 3 because Dominic and Jasmine will be there.

Gretchen and Doug - I really missed not getting to see everyone at the last get together. It has been so nice that you continue to join us even though you don't have dogs. I hope this doesn't mean you won't be coming any more.

We all need to put on our thinking caps and figure out how we are going to get around these new changes. I don't go out enough to know who all is going and how many have multiple dogs. I think we should stay quiet and low until at our meeting and then find out what others are thinking and doing about this. Remember Justina with Lucy(the pug), Brutus and her other two. And her friend who works for the newspaper who has 2 Schnauzers. There has to be others that are going to be really put out with this change.

"That they may have a little peace, even the best
dogs are compelled to snarl occasionally."

We will be there next Memorial Day weekend - can't get rid of us just yet And next May we will again bring Phesina (Pat) along with us, if she's available. We have really enjoyed the picnics, and look forward to more in the future.

Our son is flying in on Thursday, and on Saturday he and Doug are going down to Columbus for the Navy - OSU football game. So Sunday will be a day of rest and reflection - and no driving.

There are a lot of multiple dog families. I was just there yesterday with two people that had three dogs. There is the kid with the great dane, Boo. They got a brussells griffon named Chooie. They go there ALL the time. There is a lady with the two white siberian husky mixes. I really think they are going to have a hard time with this rule. I think maybe if we talk to the people in charge ahead of time... (like for next memorial day) that they may allow us to bring all our dogs on that special day? Because you all have done a lot for that park.

I sincerely hope that The Locals learn about this new One-Dawg "rule"
and raise such a STINK that The Board and the Staff quickly get the hint
and rescind the rule before folks just quit using the dog park.

One problem I see is that there's no good or easy way for the DP USERS
to communicate with "the Office" ...
Wonder if a Rescind this Rule *petition* would look good hanging on the Bulletin Board?

Everyone who visits the Dog Park needs to talk up the Locals to impress
    upon them
that they NEED to call The Office annd register a complaint over the One-Dog rule.

And be sure to *Invite* them to attend the Gathurin on Sunday, the 6th!

Is anyone going to "drop by" to check on the progress?
There's the forecast possiblity of RAIN on Wednesday, Thursday,
and Friday ... wonder if they'll work through it or stop work?

Next week starts out "sunny" ... might not be too soon to start our Sunn Dancin
for a nice Labor Day weekend.

So I went to the park today. There are lines of dug up dirt all through the left side. But the right side has one big line in the back, and they had to take out a piece of fencing. I guess they're running the drainage to the river or something. They have sectioned off the sides so it will be accessible on one side when it reopens. It looks like they are getting close to being done? There are no more holes, but mounds of dirt like they just covered up the work. So who knows. :-P
