ETA: After further reading I can understand it but there has to be better ways to deal with invasive non native species.

I can understand the need to deal with or eradicate invasive non-native species, in this case feral cats. The cat tree is a wrong and disgusting way to get the message across to cat owners specifically and pet owners in general.
