    Designing Pouncer

Remember my crying jaunt over not being able to eat grapefruit? Well, last month, I was talking about it with the new therapist. As I talked, he noticed that while explainingthe nightly grapefruit ritual, I used my hands a LOT. He said the hand-motions looked a lot like needlework motions. So he suggested I try needlework at night instead of grapefruit. He was 100% right!!! Its the PERFECT replacement for grapefruit. It turns out, it wasn't the food thing, it was what I was doing with my hands to peel and prepare the grapefruit.

    Who'da thunkit???

ANYWAY..... my therapist recommended that I do some needlework at night to de-stress and relax. He probably thought I'd go out, buy a kit to do a little sampler..... little did the dr. expect me to design my own and stitch it!

I should be done in about a week.... and then I can start designing one of the girls' photos

PS: Funny how the lighting conditions changed the coloring of the fabric and such! The middle one was scanned, so I'd say that is closst to reality.

Drats... I thought I responded but I must have hit view and went on to another thread!!

You are SO talented! That looks exactly like to picture you are using. I can't wait to see it finished and what you do with it... A Pillow? A quilt? A wall hanging?

Laura, you may have answered it in "Cat General"- but I'm happy to repeat it: I can't get over how pretty this is and how you can do it freehand.

It's an accomplishment to be able to do needlepoint, but to design the pattern as well - WOW - I'm impressed. That's beautiful!

Incredible! Is that counted cross stitch or needlpoint? Are you doing it free hand or...well counting?

    Fabulous work.

Ok, I know I have been away for a while but I am totally lost on the whole grapefruit thing! However, the needlework is GORGEOUS!

WW that is so beautiful Kim!! Do you have the software that makes the directions? How wonderful is that!! You have so much patience and attention to detail - now being used in a new way. I am so happy that your doc picked up on that - who would have thought it? I hope you bring your work in next visit to show him
