    Street Dogs Of South Central

Can you believe this exists in a large American city? The work still to
be done with pet overpopulation in America is staggering.

I'm confused, is this an actual movie? I cannot believe people can just pass a dog on the side of the road, unless it was snarling at me I think I would stop every time

    Sorry

I wasn't able to finish watching it. I do my share to keep the pet population down, by spaying and neutering and cannot be responsible for South Central. It is sad, sad, sad I know, but I cannot imagine humans allowing animals to roam the streets.

    It makes me sick.

I feel so sorry for the animals.

I was reading a article in the LA Times about street dogs in Mexico.
It was promoting a documentary called Campanions To None. It talked
about how rescue/spay/ neuter groups were trying to stress spay/neuter
practices in Mexico. One of the comments for the article said that some
dogs in south central Los Angeles didn't have it much better than Mexico.

I had heard about rescue groups in Mexico, but had not heard about
how much suffering we had in our own country. The link to the article
    is here.

Yep, its hard to believe when you're removed from it. When my sister moved from WI to TN she couldn't believe all the dogs roaming around. People would say "oh its been living around here for a few months". Very few people even threw the dogs any food. They'd just walk past them. There were even purebred toy breeds roaming the streets. If any one of those dogs came to my area they'd be adopted so fast. In all my 24 years of living in the Fox Valley I've never really seen a homeless dog on the streets. Only pets that have gotten loose and are being chased by their frantic humans. I'd love to see more rescue groups transporting dogs to areas without stray problems. One day if I have the money I want to drive down to TN and bring back some street dogs to rehab and rehome.

We have an over population problem here in central Alabama also. There are several partnerships here to address some of the problems. We desperately need laws that will address this situation such as Neuter/spay
laws. Here is a link showing how some of the overpopulation is being
    addressed.
