    We have recently experienced the same phenomenon.

    The kitties rejected 2 high-quality pet drinking fountains. They were scared to death of the noise the motors made. But, the fountain we recently bought at Target -- with an even louder motor -- has now become acceptable.
    Ask your vet about microchipping. ~ It could have saved Kuhio's life.

    That's pretty! I would love one of those for my office desk.

    I had the same "problem" years ago when I had one. It's like you get this nice item and think you can put it on a table and admire it and hear the beautiful sounds. And the next thing you know you hear, lap, lap, lap and see the cats drinking from it.

    Oy!
