    Cross-Eyed Siamese

I think Olivia is slightly cross-eyed. When we play fetch, I will throw her binky and she will run to it. Sometimes it's right in front of her and she can't see it. Sometimes when I look at her, I think her eyes look slightly cross-eyed.

Is that from poor breeding or is that a trait that some Siamese have?

I think that most Siamese were cross eyed, especially the original "Apple Head" Variety, but that its a lot rarer now.
You dont see the Classic Siamese that much these days.

Yes, it is just the breed. My grandma had a siamese years ago and she was cross-eyed too. I've seen several meezers with crossed eyes. OH, and they were on Cats 101 and that was one of the traits.

Hey, my Taggart is a little cross-eyed and he's a DAWG!! LOL

Cats 101. Is that on Animal Planet? I'll have to look for that, if it is.

I finally found the link for the Cats 101 episode about the Siamese.
I had missed it when it was on TV.
    http://animal.discovery.com/videos/c...1-siamese.html

It mentions that crossed eyes in the breed depend on their breeding.
Both my Siamese are traditional apple head Siamese and neither one of them are cross eyed.
Is Olivia an apple head or a wedge head?
Didn't you get her right from her breeder?
Did you get to meet the mother cat and notice if she had crossed eyes?
    RIP sweet Samantha

My Pearl is a Lynx Point Siamese mix and I think she's considered to be an apple head siamese. She's also a little bit cross eyed. It seems to show more when she's trying to concentrate on something. As far as I know this hasn't affected her vision at all. I think it gives her some character.

    Here her eyes look normal.

Here her eyes look a bit crossed.

Olivia has a small head. I'm thinking wedge because it's definetly not apple shaped.
I got her from her breeder. I met the mother but not the father. I didn't think of looking at the mother's eyes. Olivia was free so I didn't investigate her background. I was just so excited to be getting a free Siamese.
I love her to pieces. She has brought much joy into my life.
    Thanks again!

It's not just siamese, I think it can be any point marked cat.

My Pooky is a bit cross-eyed as well, but his brother is not. I don't believe there's any siamese in either of them, Ragdoll most likely, with some DSH or off chance of some Korat in there, but I highly doubt Siamese.
