    Meowing cat in the litterbox.

Hello, I three cats, two are males and one is a female. My youngest male cat, he meows in the litterbox. I don't understand why he does this because my other two cats don't meow in the litterbox. I was thinking maybe he has worms because the other we saw some worms on the floor. Please reply with your answer. Thanks!!

You should take your cat to the vet. It may be worms or something else. If it is worms they can find out what type they are and treat him. If he has worms, he can pass them to the other cats. He may have an infection or blockage of some sort. He really needs a checkup. Good luck. Please keep us posted.

Welcome to Pet Talk. I agree that you should take him to the vet ASAP. If he has worms then your other cats should also be treated. He may have other problems as well. Please keep us posted. Good luck.

A trip to the vet, please

I hope you read these posts, and take your cat to the vet. Worms can be cured pretty easily, although the crying at the litter box sounds like a serious problem and time is important, so pick up your kitty and take it to the Vet, please!

I have to agree with everyone here. Your kitty is trying to tell you something. Please have him checked out. He wouldn't be yowling in his litterbox if there was nothing wrong. Good luck and please let us know how he's doing.

Ritzy is so quiet in the litterbox (except for flinging the litter around), so when she once began crying during and after peeing, I KNEW it wasn't right, even though she acted otherwise healthy...

Sure enough - to the vet we went immediately - a urinary tract infection, which left untreated can be disastrous.

Get kitty to the vet pronto! Going to the bathroom shouldn't hurt - this is true of humans AND kitties!

I too agree - your cat is definately trying to tell you something, take him to the vet asap!! It sounds like bladder problems. If he can't pee, it's because crystals build up in his uninary tract and block the system. This can be fatal within a few days, the kidneys can get damaged. He will most likely be flushed through and get some antibiotic and you will have to feed him diet food.

    Good luck with him!!

You can read more about this on other threads here - in the Cat health forum.
