Thanks for the update. I'm glad to hear that he's eating more and has gained a little weight. I hope that the pills or drops will help him and that he won't get too stressed out from them. I'll continue to keep him in my thoughts and prayers.

Hi, Barbara, How is Filou feeling? Does he have his appetite back?

Oh Barbara, I'm so sorry to hear of Filou's troubles. He had been doing so well on his fluids, I thought he had many many many years left. However, like you say, you can't take him for granted anymore so you must cherish every little second you can with him.

I hope and pray he's eating regularly and feeling much better!

{{{hugs}}} to you and Siegmar and smoochies to Filou and Tigris.

Ok, Filou went for his fluids today and there are some good news after he had a fallback 10 days ago . He gained 100 g of weight (approx. 1/4 lb) in the last week. He gets this by eating Royal Canin Renal dry food (good for him) and all kind of delicacies: egg yolk, ground beef, liver pate.
He is happy, friendly and very active- but he still has to be watched carefully or he will try to pee in the laundry basket. Maybe this basket needs a major cleaning orgy but I cannot do that before the weeekend. I don't smell anything but that doesn't mean he won't.
Don't stop your thoughts- it feels like a frail balance to me but it sure makes me happier.

I would say that is a good gain in a fairly short time...I know how long it is supposed to take a cat to lose to a healthy weight.

More prayers that Filou keeps eating and coming along...keep at it, sweet Filou!
