I have owned several brreds of dogs and Yorkshire Terriers are by far my favorite. Yorkies have a great personality. My Yorkie is great he loves me and is very well mannered, not hyper and minds very well.

I have a 10 yr/old basset-beagle mix. This animal would lay down its life for me. Absolutely loyal, obedient (sp?) and forgiving. The perfect dog. When I bought her I was told she was a full blooded basset and was even given papers. When it turned out to be a mutt the breeders told me to put her to sleep! I just cannot impagine what anyone would want more in a dog.

Well, I am torn between 2 dogs...dobes and rotts. I own 1 of each, Jake is the dobie and has adopted my wife, and Lucy is my rottie. I don't know if I could pick between the two of them. Thier attitude and temperment is about the same. I guess it comes down to which body style you prefer, either the streamlined and agile Doberman who is built like a gymnast.(athletic build, but with enough muscle to get the job done. Or maybe you like the Rottweiler who is built like a weightlifter.(Compact but yet extremely powerful)
The choice is yours, but I'm not sure I could pick.

I'm voting for my wonderful Golden Retreivers!!!
I also love Cocker Spaniels, but my experience is limited to one who was very, very calm. Unusual for this breed.

Yep, add another vote for them Golden Retrievers!! I have 3 (Hogan-male-4ys, Dakota-male-3yrs & Cheyann-female-6 mnths)! You can't go wrong with them! What more could you ask for from a dog! Always happy, loveing and no matter their age, they act like a puppy all the time! I wouldn't trade them in for any other breed. They are loyal to me, I am loyal to them and their breed! They are kinda like them potato chips - "You can't have just one"!!

Amen to that, GoldieMom!!!! We are so gullible, aren't we? I have the two Golden Retreivers and was very tempted to take in Dexter, a rescue, a couple of months ago. I have no more room.
Remember the "Dalmation Plantation" from 101 Dalmations? I'd have a plain old "dog plantation" if I had enough money. ....Maybe I should vote for the lottery in SC next week, huh?
