I loved your picture so much Kiera Jean, that I could hardly wait to read your story. Your mom is so right when she says that patience, consistency and love are the keys. When I read about her receiving her first kiss from you after almost seven months I felt a tear welling up, and just look at you now, sweetly posing by that geranium for all the world to see! Thanks to all who have left me messages about my Sweet Kiera Jean. I will tell her of all the good well wishes tonight when I get home! I do think that adoption is a wonderful thing and always suggest it first when someone is looking for a dog companion, that and really to think about life style and fit.

Oh sweetheart, it took a while, sadly a long while, but finally, FINALLY you found that one human who will love you unconditionally, and forever! Your Mommy is one very wise woman, and her words worth heeding. It's so important to make certain that we humans do our research before we commit to a lifelong relationship; that we do our homework, choosing the appropriate breed, size, temperament and activity level for our family and lifestyle to assure that neither family nor canine suffers the pain and heartbreak that comes with re-homing. And of course, the rescue route is definitely the way to go! Bless your Mom for never giving up on you, for be be so patient, giving you all of the time, space and most importantly love needed to help you heal, and learn to trust again!
