Vio's Wedding- now with more and different pics from Killearn Kitties

Today in the early morning, PT's special correspondents Killearn Kitties and Barbara were brought to Chisinau airport to go home and tell the story.
    Here it is:

I arrived Friday and was part of a wonderful dinner in a place outside that had the atmosphere of a farm garden- lots of flowers, golden evening sun and great food that I can pronounce now but not spell.
I heard Karen and Alec arrive in the hotel at 3 a.m.- their plane was late.
The next morning Vio's sister's friend picked us up and showed us around Chisinau the capital of Moldova. An international place like all others? No! In Chisinau the roosters will still wake you- at least in the nice living area where Vio and Greg have their house. All houses have gardens full of veggies and flowers. And dogs. And cats. And roosters.

    Now to the pictures:
Here we go with the preparations for the big ceremony:
The groom cleans his brother up
    Killearn Kitties' dress was fabulous.
(BTW- you should see Moldovan elegance- stunning!!!!)
The bride's sister Carolina in a dress she designed and sewed herself. We saw more of her designs and they were all fantastic.

    Stay tuned.....

    The ceremony

The ceremony took place in an elegant restaurant. They had 120 guests. I cannot count the countries people came from- it must have been about 7.
I have never seen a couple that exuded that much happiness
Unfortunately I have no pictures of the Moldovan round dances.
Why? I have danced as I have not often danced in my life

The pictures: the bride just got out of the white limousine.
Nervous but happy before the ceremony.
Happy and no longer nervous after it.
The cake- it was delicious with lots of roast almonds, cream and about 100.000 calories- but we danced it all off

    Off to the last days......

Monday and Tuesday we were so happy to get to see some of Moldova's beauties.
We went to see a winery that has been installed in an old limestone quarry and that has subterranean cellars that are hundreds of km long.
And yesterday we went to see some area where- in fortfications from B.C. medieval monasteries have been installed. The landscape is lovely and very green- reminded me of Eastern France.

The first two pictures are from the winery- ok, we didn't drink the wine from glasses that big
The others show the landscape- one of them shows Vio and her brother near an old stone cross. And there is a horsecart and a cute calf that had broken lose and that we could see from above galloping through a meadow until it found - hm either his mom or an auntie and began happy grazing

We had the best time of our lives- and whoever wants to see the kitties has to go to Vio's kitties

What great reporting! The only next best thing would have been to join you for the festivities. You have included all of the details of a beautiful bride and her handsome groom.

We wish them a long and happy life together

Oh my gosh, Barbara, those pictures are gorgeous. Vio, your dress is stunning and what a handsome groom. I wish you a long and happy marriage blessed with good health.

I love the winery pictures and that glass, oh my, the first thing I thought about reading your post was "and that's your story and you are sticking to it."

Thanks so much for sharing those pictures.
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand and strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming WOO HOO - What a Ride!
