All Creatures Great & Small! YAY!

My SWEET uncle got me the Complete Collection (28 disc set!) of the BBC's All Creatures Great & Small production! It is such a great present because I would never buy it for myself (too expensive), but I know I will really enjoy it.

Here is Kirk posing with the DVDs.....

Has anyone seen all or part of this series? How did you like it?

    I am so excited!

Many thanks to Roxyluvsme13 & k9krazee for my great new siggy!!

Series can be SO expensive, though! That was so neat of your uncle! My aunts and uncles would never do anything like that for me, our families aren't super close and I have SO many aunts/uncles and cousins its crazy hehe

It's about James Herriot! I *know* you've heard of him....right? He was a British veterinary surgeon and a writer. His stories are known by animal lovers all over the world.

    I'm jealous!

That is an excellent show, though I just saw the price of the thing on BBC America......I guess I'll be watching it through netflix.

    Lucky you!

Loved the books and the TV series but why, oh why, did he always have to stick his hand up a cow's a*** when I was about to have my dinner

That is one of my very favorite TV series and of course I've read the books as well. I've often referred to the *going crackers* activity to describe the behavior of my dogs at various times and thought I would love to decorate in the era of that setting.

What an appropriate gift for a future veterinarian. Your uncle is a dear.

When Christmas comes around and I'm making up a wish list I think I will put this on it.

Hey that's not the Cotswolds --- it is the wonderful , beautiful wild YORKSHIRE moors! I have all the books and have seen every episode as my husband is from that part of England . I am sure you will truly enjoy every moment!

P.S. there was another English tv series called "Noah's Ark" that was set in the Cotswolds. Also very good but not as good as Herriot!
