Home Needed for Forrest - State College, PA

Meet our dear little Forrest -- as in "Forrest Gump." This little guy was found running loose as a stray. The person that found him said that he was "retarded" -- that's not very nice :-( -- but he does have a little something wrong with him. He has some difficulty chewing hard food, sometimes becomes a bit disoriented and walks into walls (although he can see) and sometimes winds up walking (slowly) in circles. We have taken him to a vet, and have determined that he is generally healthy -- but he does have something going on on the left side of his brain. This could be one of three things: 1) an inner ear infection (he is now on antibiotics) -- which would clear up with time and treatment 2) He could have had some sort of head trauma, which could resolve itself, at least to some degree. 3) He could have a brain tumor, which would (obviously) have less of a positive prognosis :-( This little guy is really cute -- and has shown no signs of a bad temperament. He actually becomes very affectionate with people as he gets to know them! A group of young volunteers turned some young puppies loose in the room where he is kenneled -- and he tried to lick them through the bars of his cage. He doesn't know what to do with a leash, but is fine with being carried. He could become a wonderful companion for a kind person that wants a special little furry friend.

You should post him at handicapped pets; he sounds like a cutie!
