Back in the '80s the Houston Astros had a pitcher named J.R. Richard.
This dude was like 5 foot 20 inches tall and was a commading pitcher.

He ended up having a stroke when he was 30 years old and never pitched in the major leagues.

That season I went to a ball game and there were some OBNOXIOUS Houston fans sitting behind us.

They started to talk crap about Houston not winning the division and the only reason my team was going to win was because of that.

I turned around and told him that if that is the way we were going to win the division, we didn't want it.

Some people want to win at all costs and have no qualms about running roughshod over the losers and will bend the ear of anyone one that will listen.

Come senators, congressmen
Please heed the call
Don't stand in the doorway
Don't block up the hall
For he that gets hurt
Will be he who has stalled
There's a battle outside
And it is ragin'
It'll soon shake your windows
And rattle your walls
For the times they are a-changin'.

Come mothers and fathers
Throughout the land
And don't criticize
What you can't understand
Your sons and your daughters
Are beyond your command
Your old road is
Rapidly agin'
Please get out of the new one
If you can't lend your hand
For the times they are a-changin'.
