    I stand corrected!

I was just informed that BO has never refused to place his hand over his heart during the Pledge of Allegiance.

    Flog away!

That happens when I cinch up my pants. I really can't hear myself speak through the fabric in the seat.

I've PMed you my address, send me my money-no checks-just small bills.

Recycle the sign ......or on second thought......I may have an office in my regime...ah, cabinet for you. Interested?

    What's up with Bill Richardson??

In keeping with the religion part of the thread...... James Carville called BR a "Judas" for endorsing BO. Richardson is a good pal of the Clintons but decided to back Obama. Apparently, the pundits believe that it guarantees Obama the Hispanic vote...Nope, the only thing guaranteed is BR on the short list as Obama's running partner should the nod go to him. Another 'attractive' selling point for his quest for the White House.

"Hey look, Not only did I get a Hispanic dude to help me win, I got him to help run the country....."

Thank god we are getting past the issue of race....

Have you seen his ears? Check out the right one-cauliflower, dude!
I guess covering them up is out of the question?

I'd send you 5,000 dollars, but I still am unemployed. I am waiting for 10,000 dollars so if that shows up in my mailbox, I'll share it with you.

Having been on a C-17 three times, I do know how Hillary Clinton felt.
Every single time the plane was surrounded by thousands of local people.
There was no sniper fire but on one occasion F-16s flew over the aircraft providing some protection in case we were fired upon.

Upon exiting the plane the crew told us to have a good day and to be careful on the way out.

I got out onto the stairs, made my way down to the ground. A commotion off to the side caught my attention.

I ran over to buy a beer and hot dog. I really enjoyed the rest of the airshow.

Did you hear that one of Hillary's claims to be qualified for President was because she faced sniper fire when she was in Bosnia?

Seems Shaq O'Neil was on the same trip. No sniper fire. NO gun fire at all just an easy laid back trip. Films to prove it too.

Hillary said well, she "misspoke" about the trip. HELLO!!! You LIED!!!

Puckstop, Yes, almost all politicians are human beings who care about the society in which they live and chose to work, making that society better. They represent the people who elect them!

    As Smokey the Elder said:
The best of us will see more similarities than differences in peoples of the world, regardless of politics, culture or religion.

Reading that quote reminded me of a politician (I think he was a conservative MP) that I saw in a television interview some time ago. He said nearly the exact same thing.... some weeks later the country was outraged when we learnt that a good proportion of Parliament was squandering the tax-payer's money on mortgages, moats and floating duck houses (!) for their second homes.

I have been lucky enough to sit on on lectures with a few politicians, and don't get me wrong, I respect them, but each one, perhaps bar one, has made horrendous errors of judgement in their history that did nothing for the community or the greater good of anybody.

I think I might be agreeing with Puckstop on this one!

  12. As someone pointed out to me when I was complaining about some politicians once...have you ever run for office?

So those who are carping...calling all or almost all politicians evil or morons or thieves...

Have you run for office? Have you worked on the campaign of someone you think would be better?

Or is it easier to curse the darkness than to light a candle?

I don't believe all are anything. Just as people who go into the military do it to make the world a safer place, I think most politicians run for office because they want to make the government better.

As we all know those Founding Fathers were also politicians!

Do some politicians go bad? Sure. Do some in the military go bad? Sure. Heck, so do some teachers, lawyers, doctors, business people, athletes, etc. etc, etc.

I just have never like labeling ALL of anything good or evil.

    No.

Yes. And it was the first of a series of experiences that taught me what our modern politician is all about.

I might begin believing in the people who serve in government again.... When that "service" becomes a sacrifice again. The founders understood that SERVICE was a sacrifice, and a noble one. Today, it seems a way to live a fat life and spend OPM. (Other Peoples Money, to coin the 'fine' State Senator from PA, Vince Fumo, who is currently incarcerated.)

Indeed. But those men had something that very, very few today do. A sense of honor and integrity. They understood that they served something MUCH bigger than themselves. That they were part of a necessary evil, not the solution to all our woes.

They pledged their LIVES, their FORTUNES and their SACRED HONOR. What does our modern version risk?

If you get a warm compress and sterilize a needle you can lance a hyperbole.

Or just deny you have one!

What's new with you......Got any points to defend?
