I loved Aarti too!!! I'm thrilled to death that she won. She is so cute and speaks beautifully.

I watch the Two Fat Ladies on the Cooking Channel. They are something else.

I've noticed that Giada lets her daughter eat anything anytime. I can't believe it either.

I love the Food Truck Race program on TVFN.

Some of the challenges are too predictable and I am not a fan of Tyler FLorence.....But, I have really enjoyed it.

I want to know what happens to the money they earn at each stop.

    -------------------

Did anyone see that Mario Batali was sued by some ex-employees?

    ---------------

I was watching the end of a wedding cake competition where the people the cake was for were covered with tattoos.

The woman they picked to make thier cakes was also a tattooed person.Very obvious.

I was curious about that, too - but we missed the first show, so thought maybe it was explained then!

  4. I have a friend who mentions this show quite often an i was considering watching it until i read the posts about people fiddling with their hair an etc while cooking.

ugh. no thank you. makes me nauseous just reading it. i dont see how a cooking show can be taken seriously when the so called chefs do that.

Most of the cheftestants on Top Chef don't do that, I promise.

Now, on Hell's Kitchen - that's another story, lots of unsanitary, and unprofessional behavior of all sorts, but I haven't watched a single episode this season, it's just too predictable and frankly boring.

Richard, I am looking forward to watching the Top Chef All Stars - there are some "not winners" that I genuinely like, and will root for. Carla, in particular, has always reminded me of a smarter sibling to Big Bird from Sesame Street, so it'll be interesting to see how she handles a second season.

Also, Richard, I have been rooting for Ming Tsai all along. I have eaten at the "Blue Ginger" restaurant whose you see on his jacket, and they take food allergies quite seriously. They took my list and asked if they could keep it to enter it their computer under my name for future visits, and created an entree and salad for me that was not on the menu at all, but entirely Karen-safe and scrumptious. Paul and his mother, who were with me, did order from the menu and enjoyed their food, too. The man has my respect, and I have seen nothing on the show to diminish that. He's not the flashiest or loudest, but may be the most experienced and most capable.

I see Marcel cut his hair for the show?

I have always dug MT and his cooking programs, Chef PonyTail was a butt head and always had something to say about him. Not to fond of seeing him
    in the finals.

I was okay with last week's elimination. This week I think the judges were absolutely wrong.

Has anyone else been watching "Around the World in 80 Plates"? It seems really interesting, and a good idea!

Hey, anyone still watching "next Food Network Star?" Who are you rooting for, if so?

On Guy Fieri's show, "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives" --- Guy visited a restaurant called the Chicken Basket that's about a five-minute drive from my house! I was so surprised when I realized where he was. I love their chicken soup, which they make from scratch.

I said this before, see if it fits this time around.

Do all the cooking/competition shows recycle thru the same personalities for every season?

The Eurasian gal, a black chickie babe, the nerd, the fat guy with the idiot hair cut (tattoos?), the slight blonde mouse, the high class twit, the southern dude with the accent and alligator recipes....do I go on?

Oh, I forgot the idiot that 'talks' to/about food -remember the guy from last year that BF didn't like because he was the 'Food Whisperer'?

    Can't wait!

I watched NFNS last night. I thought this group was a little more talented than the last few seasons but I had to take it back as the show progressed.

Brett was on my nerves from the beginning. I think the big guy with the glasses could be entertaining at times, the good looking guy is too much with the attitude, the black girl seems sweet, the girl that made the apple tarts is a little flaky but ok so far. I can't remember anybody else. Oh yea, Debbie, the Korean/American girl. Why was she acting the way she did after they got back from shopping? Her way of shopping was ridiculous. Just fill up the carts and forget about what you really need?

That FN group was at their very arrogant best. Giada seemed bored. Why didn't she just stay home?

Did anybody else watch last night? What did you think?

That pound cake dessert was so lame, I know this show is all made up. Nobody in their right mind would serve that with a straight face. $1200 to spend and you can't get a decent dessert out of that?

We watched last night - I do think they could have come up with something better for the dessert - it looked, seemed and was an afterthought. A whole kitchen full of cooks and no one could do better than that?

It does seem like an interesting group of people - the apple tarts didn't look that great, but everyone loved them, so they must have been better than they looked. The woman who made them does seem a bit too highly strung to last long. I don't see the 'nutritionist" lasting long either unless she does better with her food than a salad and just plain Swiss Chard.

    It will be entertaining, anyway.

I could not watch it to the end.

So, I do not know who got bounced!

Alex G has to have some kind of weird vibe going on......She looks like she was on a real bender and just showed up on a whim...the rest were uninspired and boh-ring!!!!! I had to laugh at DG talking to the people about serving him cake. Everyone knows that if it's not a Charm City Cake, it ain't poop!

    Let them eat cake?

Like last year, Giada don't do 'spunky', Morimoto is understandable-the captioning is unnecessary, I am starting to really dig Anne Burrell-LOL, it's the freaking hair, it's always perfect. I found AB's comments about watching the contestant's show and being all wired up really funny...she don't watch her self on TV?

I got to the point in the show where the BF was roaming thru the kitchen doing a "tom collichio" and checking out the recipes, Ya think he wanted to get paid more to do that?

I tuned out when the judges started with the "GO BIG/Big personality" speeches. They'll be asking them to tone it down later on.

I'll watch the rerun an write a more 'cutting' review later on?

    -----------------------------

    DUDE,

I just saw a blurb about Kelsey from NFNS has a show with Spike from Top Chef. It's on the FN website - I think it's a web show...
