iMOM is raising funds for Blossom.
Here's Blossom's sad story so far:
Blossom is a 10-month-old terrier-mix puppy rescued in the spring of 2007 by Maranatha Farm. At 2 months old, Blossom had been tortured with a screwdriver and hammer causing damage to her teeth, mouth and nasal passages. Police took Blossom away from her owner but were unable to prosecute the cruelty or provide medical care for the badly mutilated puppy. Maranatha Farm took Blossom in and has paid for seven surgical procedures over the past 8 months. Although her shattered puppy teeth were able to be replaced, several attempts to restore normal breathing have failed. The University of Florida renowned School of Veterinary Medicine, in Gainesville, FL, will operate on Blossom on February 6th, removing scar tissue which blocks her breathing passages and installing artificial tubes to allow her to breathe normally through her nose. Now Blossom breathes through a hole in the roof of her mouth, which clogs with food and becomes infected easily. Most of her life Blossom has had to take antibiotics and sleep with her head held in a certain position to keep the hole from closing. Please help Blossom have the last surgery she needs to be able to eat and sleep normally, and find out what it is to be a puppy again.
Her rescuers have already spent $3,500 for her previous surgeries and can afford no more. iMOM is attempting to raise $1,900 for Blossom's next surgery.
