    Blood in Dasher's Stool

Mom told me when I got home this afternoon that Dasher had run off and there was some blood in it. She had him so couldn't get a sample right away and when I got home, we couldn't find it. I fed him some rice and chicken and made him go a little because I wanted to look at it. There is blood and I'm so scared. We go to the vet in the morning. I can't hardly see through the tears. Please pray it's nothing serious. I've been so fragile, I won't be able to handle it. It would be the last straw. I'm so upset. I don't think I'll sleep too much at all. I was going to try and work on the Christmas cards but now I just don't have it in me.

Oh Val, you must be so worried. I will pray for Dasher. Hopefully it's something not serious at all.

Val, I know how hard it is, believe me I know, but try not to think the worst. As you know 2 or 3 weeks ago Raven was horribly ill and had bloody diarrhea for two days and was vomiting as well. I was in complete terror I was going to lose her. She went to the vet and nothing was found in the stool, but she received a couple shots and some medicines. I guess I'll never know what caused it. But they can get blood in their stool when their intestines are just really aggravated by something and it's not always an indication of something ominous.

Dasher will be in my prayers. I know how you are feeling right now and that nothing can really make you feel better . Praying hard for your sweet boy. I'll be looking here for an update tomorrow.

Prayers for you that it's nothing serious. Mine have done that off and on before and it always turned out to be nothing so try not to stress too hard (yeah right) but it can very well turn out to be nothing at all to worry about. Sending prayers to you both.

Thanks Jess for the great sig of my kids!

Oh Val I am so sorry this was the last thing you needed right at the Holidays. I know telling you not to worry it could be his intestines are just irritated is not going to help, you will be up worrying all night long. I will say this though, you both will be in my prayers all night long and I will be sending good thoughts to you at the Vet tomorrow. Give him hugs and some to you too.

You and Dasher will be in our prayers that it is something completely minor.

Well, in the words of the vet, "Dasher is pretty darned healthy" I don't know what made him bleed. The only thing I can think of is a fresh bone (small circle with marrow included). I read that sometimes the slivers can cause that. So, no more of those for him. He had another potty last night with no blood and one this morning, too. It's a bit runny so I have some pills for that. It was time for his checkup, anyway so I paid for the senior plan and got him the works. His blood test will be back in a couple of days. Vet doesn't think anything will be wrong. I feel so much better now but I'm exhausted. I didn't hardly sleep at all and when I did, it wasn't much. Thanks so much for the well wishes.

Oh, good! What a relief this morning! Dasher, I was wondering if you might have eaten something amiss. I'll bet your mom already gave you some huge hugs today - but, could you please get her to give you just one more big one from me. I'm glad you're pretty darned healthy!

Beautiful update Val! I'm so glad. I have been watching like a hawk to see how the vet visit went. I know how those sleepless nights are. Get some rest when you can Val. Curl up with that sweet boy and crash . I'm so happy to hear such a good update!
